𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗨𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗢𝗥 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟 -𝗕𝗢𝗧𝗦𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗔 𝗚𝗢𝗘𝗦 𝗗𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗟

Today,Office of the Auditor General -Botswana through AFROSAI-E (African Supreme Auditing Institute -English) commenced the newly introduced AFROSAI-E Sai Enhancement Audit Tool which now goes by its localized brand name “BW-SEAT” in Gaborone. BW-SEAT is a new digital platform meant to enhance audit effectiveness, consistency and collaboration. As the primary users, auditors will be aligned on its purpose, benefits and operational expectations from the inception to ensure successful implementation.

When giving welcome remarks, Deputy Auditor General for Specialised Audit, Mr Paphane Bothale said the training is long overdue and encouraged participants to pay attention and learn as much as they can. He said after the training participating teams shall run a pilot project to check the effectiveness of the tool.

The Office of the Auditor General today joined the global community in commemorating the International Candle light event for HIV/AIDS. The day is commemorated annually on the third Sunday of May since 1983.This year Botswana celebrated the day on May 17th at Lobatse Under the theme -𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗖𝗬, 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗔𝗰𝘁.The candle light day is held in remembrance to the families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

The occasion was graced by BOCCAIP board member, Dr Pastor Tebogo Philemon Motlhagodi whom together with Auditor General, Ms Keneilwe Senyarelo, FCCA, ACPA were torchbearers in lighting the flame of the candles as a symbol of hope and resilience.

Speaking during the session, Dr Motlhagodi preached a message on supporting each other in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the office as affected and infected employees in order to deliver quality and productive service rendered by OAG Botswana. The speakers of the day also urged that this light be a symbol of everyone’s unwavering compassion, dedication to human rights and promise to build a future where no one faces this journey alone. Deputy Auditor General performance Audit,Mr Paphani Bothale implored OAG team to work hard in an accountable and transparent manner.
