GOLDMINE CJSS EMBARKS ON A WALKATHON
As a natural phenomenon for schools to hold prize giving ceremonies to acknowledge hard work and great performance achieved by learners and staff, the ceremonies usually require financial sponsorship to acknowledge success achieved by all .
Goldmine CJSS hosted a sponsored walk to raise funds towards its annual Prize Giving Ceremony. The School embarked on a 10km walk that stretched from the school to the eastern side of the town passing through the Toro Mall which is situated in the Molapo Surbubs and joined the popular marimavu road and connected into the block 4 location and back to the school.
The walk which started in the early hours of Saturday saw multitudes comprising the young and the old actively taking part.
Amongst the walkers was the Francistown City Mayor who is also the Area Councilor of Tshwaragano Ward Honourable Gaone Majere. The Mayor took part in the walk as the Chief Walker. He thanked the school for raising funds through such an initiative that also promotes fitness. He said the initiative is a very instrumental undertaking that needs to be supported. The Chief Walker also applauded the school for its good performance over the years.
The Regional Director Mr Labane Mokgosi who also took part in the walk said the School is a well run and organized institution. He thanked the school management for ensuring that good performance is given priority. He encouraged students and staff to continue working as a team for consistent good performance.
The School head Ms Titose Keagile said despite challenges they face they work hard to sail through hardships.Learner indiscipline is one of the challenges they face however through their formidable structures like the guidance and counseling department they ensure that learners are properly guided.
The school will host its annual Prize Giving Ceremony at the end of the year to acknowledge performance.
