Toward Ease of Doing Business

In a first of its kind, a team led by Hon’ble Minister of MoICE held a very interactive session with LG leaders, business community and civil servants of Wangdue Dzongkhag on Business Regulatory Reform.

In a very frank and engaging session, issues related to multiple, often overlapping, regulations and chokeholds impeding ease of doing business were raised, deliberated upon and resolutions arrived at. Hon’ble Lyonpo was very clear that the discussions will chart out the way forward toward amalgamation and convergence of regulations so that business environment in the country become conducive and agile.

LG leaders and business leaders of Wangdue applauded the Ministry for this nation-wide initiative and the far-reaching impact it will have on the business environment in the country.

The 10th Dzongkhag Tshogdu (DT) Session commenced today with the traditional ceremonies of Marchang and Zhue Drey PhuenSum Tshogpa, marking the formal opening of the session.

Key agenda items for the 10th session include presentation of the progress report on developmental activities for the financial year 2025–2026, approved budget and activities for the financial year 2026–2027. The session also deliberated on various opportunities, issues and challenges of the Gewogs and Bajo Throm.

In addition to the DT members and observers, the session is also attended by the National Council Member of Wangduephodrang, further enriching the deliberations.

The session provides an important platform for members to deliberate on these opportunities and issues, identify pragmatic solutions, and collectively work toward the socio-economic development of Wangduephodrang Dzongkhag.

Expression of Interest (EOI) for Operating Gadhen Lingka Café (2-Year Lease)

The Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag Administration hereby invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from interested youth groups and entrepreneurs to operate the Gadhen Lingka Café on a two-year lease.

As the recent tender process received no bidders, the Dzongkhag Administration is inviting interested and capable youth groups and entrepreneurs to submit their applications for consideration.

Interested applicants are requested to submit their Expression of Interest, along with relevant supporting documents, to the Procurement Office, Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag Administration, on or before 11 August 2026 (Tuesday), 5:00 PM, the official office closing time. Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.

📢 Public Notification – Basochhu Waterfalls

The Dzongkhag Administration is pleased to inform the general public that, in collaboration with PHPA I, TTI Khuruthang and DeSuups of Wangdue, the improvement works at the Basochhu Waterfalls have been successfully completed.

The public is hereby informed that:

✅ The viewing deck and access steps from the base of the waterfall to the viewing deck are now complete and open for public use.

✅ While every effort has been made to ensure the comfort and safety of visitors, we request that no more than 15 people occupy the viewing deck at any one time.

🌊 Welcome to Basochhu Waterfalls—Bhutan's grandest waterfall! We hope you enjoy your visit and create wonderful memories. However, please exercise caution at all times, as your safety is ultimately your own responsibility.

♻️ Please help keep the area clean by disposing off waste responsibly and respecting the natural environment.

P.S.: The Basochhu Waterfall is seasonal in nature. The volume of water depends on rainfall and water diversion for the Basochhu Hydropower Plant. We kindly advise visitors to check the current water flow before planning a visit.

For your safety, please refrain from visiting or using the facilities until the works are fully completed. We are working very hard to complete the works at the earliest and will issue an official announcement once the site is ready and safe to welcome visitors.
