This is to inform that as of 30 th June 2020, Sunshine Borneo Tour & Travel Sdn Bhd / Bintang Ulu Ulu Resort will no longer be operating and managing the facilities at Ulu Temburong National Park under the brand “ Ulu Ulu Resort”. We thank Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism especially Forestry department for their support and partnership in the last 12 years. We also like to thank Brunei Tourism Department and all our partners in the tourism industry as well as suppliers for making Ulu Ulu such a successful product . Due to Covid-19, we are unable to sustain this business even with Ministry of Finance & Economy(MOFE) support for free rental from April to
September 2020. Lastly I like to thank the Ulu Ulu team for all their hard work and commitment as well as the volunteers and researchers who have open an amazing world to the common travelers. Ulu Temburong National Park is an amazing place and I wish it all the success
in the future.

This is the Black-bellied Malkoha (Phaenicophaeus diardi) - one of the five species of malkohas in Borneo. They are quite widespread in Brunei and can frequently be seen in Ulu Temburong National Park. They can usually be seen hoping around, foraging for insects in the canopy and the understorey.

Hope to see it again in the next birding trip!

Here's a throwback to a macrophotography trip with our volunteer from France and our local researcher.

Are you into bugs? Then our macrophotography tour will be just perfect for you. We have ample varieties of creepy crawlies at and around the resort for you to uncover. Our bugs are always ready to pose for you!

But have to wait till we're open for business. At the meantime, stay safe!

Reminiscing to a time when the Ulu Temburong National Park was packed with tourists from all over the world and the longboat drivers were busy sending them up and down the Temburong River.

Can't wait for the resort to reopen!

It's time to meet another feathered friend from the Ulu Temburong National Park!

This cutie is the Finsch's Bulbul (Alophoixus finschii) - a common songbird in the park but overall a scarce resident throughout Borneo. The puffed up yellow throat feathers distinguish this bird from other similar looking bulbuls. And unlike other bulbuls, this bird doesn't flock and it might be more insectivorous than others.

Add it in your bird list for your next birding trip!

Ever wonder how playing real life pokemon in the rainforest would be like?

Well, it's just like doing macrophotography! And the Bulbous Spiny Orb Weaver (Actinacantha globulata) will likely be one of the the easiest and cutest 'pokemons' you could find!

We just can't wait to go back and find these mini monsters. Gotta catch 'em all! Hopefully, you'll join us too!

Sungai Tulan is one of the nicest streams you can visit upriver when you stay at least for 3 days 2 nights with us at the resort.
This stream has 4 big, amazing waterfalls!

Have you ever seen this strange flower?

Well, it's the Fragraea macroscypha from the Gentianaceae family. It is one of the largest single flowers in Borneo with an extraordinary length of 18 cm! The long corolla tube is elongated and thus, can only be pollinated at night by hawkmoths with super long proboscis!

We found this flower at the Ulu Ulu Resort, very close to the Temburong River. It can only be found in Borneo!
