Borneo was, in Sir David Attenborough's words, "one of the richest treasure-houses" on Earth. Today we mark his 100th birthday by celebrating a life dedicated to protecting it. From his first encounter with wild orangutans here in 1956, to successfully halting a bridge that would have destroyed critical habitat on the Kinabatangan River, Attenborough's connection to this island runs deep. Brunei's Heart of Borneo remains one of the world's great natural wonders. Here's to 100 years of making us all care a little more.

We're delighted to welcome William Roberts to the British High Commission as our new Head of Political Office.

Will joins us from a busy career across the Foreign Office — including serving as Acting Deputy High Commissioner to Belize, working as Assistant Private Secretary to the Foreign Secretary, and advising the Minister responsible for North America and the British Overseas Territories.

We're looking forward to everything Will brings to the team and to deepening the UK-Brunei relationship together. Selamat datang, Will!

The UK was honoured to welcome Datin Dr. Huraini, Clerk to the Legislative Council, and a delegation on a visit to the Houses of Parliament, London.
The visit covered Parliamentary technical discussions and the opportunity to meet the Clerk of the House of Commons, the Clerk of Bills, Interparliamentary Relations Office, the Journal Office, and the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee, as well as observing Prime Minister's Question Time.
The UK and Brunei remain close historical Parliamentary partners and friends, and we look forward to continuing this expanding relationship.

The UK High Commission and British Forces Brunei are honoured to pay their respects on
ANZAC Day to all military who have served and continue to serve their nations in the pursuit of peace and freedom. We are humbled by their loyalty, courage and selfless service.

Today the British High Commissioner, the Defence Adviser and the Commanding Officer of British Forces Brunei laid wreaths at the memorial in Muara.

Members of British Forces Brunei also recently walked in the footsteps of those that perished during the Sandakan Death Marches and held a commemorative service at the Sandakan Memorial Park.
Their sacrifice, and that of all who have served, will never be forgotten.

We had a wonderful time participating in the recent Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Guest‑of‑Honour Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, the MFA’s Ambassador at large, toured the booths set up by diplomatic missions. On our stall we served freshly baked scones with cream and jam made by our Residence Chef, Wilson. The warm hospitality and festive spirit throughout the evening made it a truly memorable celebration.
