System is operational in English and Arabic languages at user choice;
System currently processes around 800 import and export declarations daily (IM4, EX1), including warehousing (IM7), temporary regimes (IM5, EX6 and EX2, EX3) plus a few IM8 declarations; 1200 declarations expected in August 2012. The processing path is based on self assessment by Trader and starts with payment of duty followed by automatic risk assessment and assignment of examining Officers. An SMS notification is issued to traders with examiner names and examination time. Bar codes on Customs declaration allows easy reference for payment and examination minimizing human entry and eliminating errors
Bar codes on export exit notes are used to generate gates passes at the border for container trucks leaving Bahrain through King Fahd Causeway to Gulf Destinations
Capturing of Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) information through XML/Excel into customs declaration
Application in the pipeline: passenger declaration, manifest;
Manifest electronic transfer to be piloted in collaboration with Shipping Companies and Airlines
Webb Fontaine's TWM Core system was customized in record time to accommodate Bahrain requirements: GCC Duty compensation, drawbacks, Business Activities for traders, scanned images of containers on declaration plus a number of management reports
