The U.S. Embassy reminds American citizens that Iran has previously targeted civilian infrastructure in Bahrain, including hotels in Manama.

Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise heightened vigilance and be aware of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions.

Ambassador Hallett met H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, General Director of the Sentence Enforcement & Alternative Sanctions Directorate and toured Bahrain’s Open Prison facilities. The center is designed to help offenders develop new skills and smoothly transition back into society.

Ambassador Hallett visited Manama’s Old Christian Cemetery, its Jewish Cemetery – the only operational Jewish cemetery in the Gulf – and the Muslim Manama Cemetery, each of which were established over 100 years ago. All three stand in close proximity, a reflection of Manama’s longstanding openness to people of different faiths.

زارت السفيرة ستيفاني هاليت المقبرة المسيحية القديمة في المنامة، والمقبرة اليهودية فيها )وهي المقبرة اليهودية الوحيدة التي لا تزال مستخدمة في منطقة الخليج( وزارت كذلك مقبرة المنامة للمسلمين، وقد أُنشئت جميعها قبل أكثر من 100 عام. وتقع المقابر الثلاث على مقربة من بعضها البعض، في انعكاس لانفتاح المنامة الراسخ منذ زمن طويل على أتباع الديانات المختلفة.
