We are happy to introduce our new Deputy Head of Mission and Consul Salla Mähönen. 👋
Over the past few years Salla worked in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Department for Latin America. She had also held posts in the Finnish embassies in Buenos Aires, Geneva, and Vilnius.

"I arrived from Helsinki's cool summer to Sofia's hot August two weeks ago. I'm excited to start working in the Embassy in Sofia and to learn more about Bulgaria, its culture and people!"

Happy to share good practices from Finland in the field of social innovations and to provide information to the Regional Center for Social Economy and Social Innivations-Gabrovo.
Numerous studies and surveys consider Finland one of the world’s most socially innovative countries: it’s the most stable country in the world and boasts the best governance. 💪
It offers the best quality of life in the EU and the second-best quality of life in the world. It is recognised as one of the fairest countries for children, one of the best places for mothers, and one of the top nations for fathers spending time with their kids. Finland is also one of the most socially just countries in Europe.

Изказваме искрената си благодарност към Финландското посолство за ценния подарък – книгата „100 социални иновации от Финландия“, която представя вдъхновяващи добри практики и успешни решения с обществена полза.

Днес, по време на третото издание на събитието „Мисия възможна 3.0: Кауза. Иновации. Предприемачество.“, организирано от Регионалния център за социална икономика и социални иновации – Габрово, имахме възможността да представим една от социалните иновации, включени в изданието - методът "Фигурални ноти". Представената практика предизвика голям интерес и вдъхнови участниците за нови идеи и възможности за прилагане на иновативни решения в сферата на образованието. Съвсем скоро ще разкажем за нея в детайли и за адаптираното прилагане и в България.

В събитието се включиха представители на две социални предприятия, неправителствени организации, бизнес, Областен информационен център - Габрово и Младежки център - Габрово. Благодарим на всички за активното участие, споделения опит и ползотворните дискусии!

Надяваме се, че партньорството ни с Посолство на Финландия Suomen Suurlähetystö Sofia - Embassy of Finland in Sofia ще продължи и в посока реални срещи с представители от Финландия, които реализират социални иновации и отново благодарим за подадената ръка и ползотворния разговор с Румяна Василева - асистент "Култура и медии" от Посолство на Финландия в София.

🎨Young artist Victoria Chipova opened a solo exhibition at Muse Art Gallery in Sofia. The paintings were inspired by the music and texts of Victoria’s favourite Finnish metal band Nightwish.
🔉Although they are not performing together on stage, the fans of Nightwish will have the chance to see live Marko Hietala (bassist) on 17 July in Sofia and 19 July in Varna, and Tarja Turunen (vocalist) on 18 September in Plovdiv. 🎤🎸

During the visit to Gabrovo Ambassador Pohjankukka met with the mayor of the city Ms. Tanya Hristova and her team. Expanding the existing cooperation between Gabrovo and cities in Finland in the fieslds of waste management, digital transformation, circular economy and climate nautrality were among the topics of dicsussion. 🤝

Last week Ambassador Pohjankukka attended the opening of the Summer Bootcamp - AEJ-Bulgaria and sCOOL Media training and mentorship program for high school students interested in journalism in Gabrovo. She had the chance to speak with the participants and learn more about their aspirations towards the journalistic profession. 📰🖊️
🔹For a perdiod of one week 18 talanted youngsters from all over the country will learn how to ask questions for an interview, how to check facts and write a captivating story.
🔸The Nordic embassies in Sofia are supporting the programme and the visit of a renowned Finnish journalist Salla-Rosa Gröhn as part of the Nordic-Bulgarian Media Integrity Initiative funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers.
