19 Bulgarian fruit growers and experts arrived in the Netherlands for the third business and study trip organised under the Холандски решения за българските плодове/NL Fruit Basket BG initiative.

Lead by Sophie Neve - agricultural counsellor of the Netherlands for Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova, in the first two days of the program, the group visited three of the leading Dutch nurseries - Boomkwekerij Fleuren (pome and stone fruits), Verbeek Boomkwekerijen (pome fruits), and Creek (blueberries), Frigotehnika - turnkey supplier of cold storage and freezing facilities, - research, knowledge and consultancy provider, along also with fellow Dutch growers and companies throughout the supply chain.

Advantages of high-quality planting material, latest varieties and growing techniques and practices, climate adaptation, orchard management, harvest and post-harvest handling, and opportunities for value creation were among the many topics of high interest during the bilateral exchange.

Холандски решения за българските плодове/NL Fruit Basket BG is a Partnership for International Business program by 15 leading companies - suppliers of planting material, technologies, equipment, materials and services. It aims to contribute for sustainable and competitive growth in Bulgarian fruit sector by providing a direct business access to Dutch knowledge, know-how and solutions of today’s challenges. The initiative is supported by Netherlands Enterprise Agency and facilitated by Netherlands Agricultural Network and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bulgaria.

Looking back at some wonderful memories from the debut edition of SunFest Sofia and its massive Ferris wheel!

After nearly three months of bringing life to Knyazheska Garden, the festival officially wrapped up on June 28th. The highlight was undoubtedly the impressive, Dutch-manufactured 40-meter Ferris wheel, which treated everyone to unforgettable rides and breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Vitosha and downtown Sofia.

Beyond the sky-high thrills, the festival grounds were packed with delicious street food, live weekend concerts and plenty of entertainment for the kids.

SUNFEST SOFIA – ФЕСТИВАЛ НА ЗАБАВЛЕНИЯТА В СЪРЦЕТО НА СОФИЯ. Най-голямото виенско колело в България!

На 25 юли в Археологическия музей във Варна се състоя световната премиера на проекта „D-tonator“ с автор базираният в Нидерландия български пианист и композитор Димитър Бодуров. Събитието беше акцент в 13-ото издание на RADAR Festival Beyond Music.

Заедно с Бодуров на сцената излязоха четирима виртуозни струнни музиканти от престижния нидерландски Кралски „Концертхебау“ оркестър - Марк Даниел ван Бимен, Хани Сонг, Санта Вижине и Йорис ван ден Берг.

Иновативното произведение за пиано, струнен квартет и електроника пресъздаде напрежението на съвременния свят — от геополитическите конфликти до сблъсъка между човека и технологиите.

Концертът се реализира с финансовата подкрепа на Посолството на Нидерландия.

Have you ever wondered what is the real price behind the news we read every day?

A new study by the Association of European Journalists (AEJ) reveals that while women form the backbone of Bulgarian media, they often pay a steep personal price for it.

Behind the microphones and cameras, many of them face off-the-books salaries and are working without fair contractual terms; suffer humiliating "negotiations" over social security coverage during pregnancy; are struggling with sexism, online harassment, and even threats targeting their families when investigating sensitive topics.

And much more!

AEJ reminds us that working conditions and press freedom go hand in hand - and it’s high time we start talking about it.

For this special performance, Bodurov is joined by four distinguished musicians from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra - Marc Daniel van Biemen (violin), Hani Song (violin), Santa Vizine (viola) and Joris van den Berg (cello).

Part of the 13th edition of the festival, this unique concert brings together contemporary classical music and electronics in a powerful live experience.

Yesterday, Ambassador Arthur den Hartog had the pleasure to visit Zagorka Brewery in Stara Zagora and to meet the CEO of the company Mrs. Radina Shkutova, Mr. Boris Miloushev, CEO of Heineken Romania and Member of the Zagorka Board, and representatives of the company’s leadership team.

The visit focused on Zagorka’s operations, the business environment, market developments and future plans. As a long-standing and very successful Dutch investment in Bulgaria, Zagorka is an important example of Dutch business engagement and contribution to strengthening economic ties between the Netherlands and Bulgaria.

The visit also highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. The Embassy looks forward to continued cooperation with Zagorka in support of their sustainable and resilient growth.

On 8 July 2026, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivanka Tasheva met with Ambassador Arthur den Hartog. Both reaffirmed the commitment of Bulgaria and the Netherlands to deepening bilateral cooperation with a focus on security, trade, investment and cybersecurity. They also exchanged views on key European issues, including EU enlargement, the war in Ukraine and the resilience of critical infrastructure, and expressed their readiness to further expand political dialogue and practical cooperation.
