🌍 We compared per capita oil & gas income across Middle Eastern countries.
🛢 Saudi Arabia earns the highest total oil & gas revenue at around $200–220B, followed by the UAE ($120–130B) and Qatar ($90–110B). Iran earns about $35–50B.
📊 But the real difference appears when revenue is divided by population:
🇶🇦 Qatar ≈ $37,000 per person
🇦🇪 UAE ≈ $13,000
🇰🇼 Kuwait ≈ $10,500
🇴🇲 Oman ≈ $7,000
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia ≈ $5,500
Iran ≈ $450
👥 The main reason is population size. Iran has ~93M people, while Qatar has only ~2.7M.
📈 Compared to Iran, per capita oil & gas income is:
• 🇶🇦 Qatar: 80× higher
• 🇦🇪 UAE: 30×
• 🇰🇼 Kuwait: 23×
• 🇴🇲 Oman: 15×
• 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia: 12×
⚡️ So despite huge energy reserves, Iran’s larger population and lower export revenues leave a far smaller share per citizen.
