Another important piece of the shared heritage of Bulgaria🇧🇬 and Türkiye🇹🇷 is getting a new lease on life thanks to the MOBIGATE initiative, backed by the Territorial Strategy.

🏛️The Historical Museum in Malko Tarnovo is revamping the visitor centre in Petrova Niva. The newly created space has already hosted its first event - a conference dedicated to Thracian Bulgarians📜.

Meanwhile, the archaeological site of Rusokastro and the Kıyıköy Fortress🏰are also undergoing major restoration. Stay tuned to see how they are being transformed🔨

🚴The Strategy Board approved a 🆕 approach to expand cycling infrastructure and catch up on the relevant indicator🚲.

Current beneficiaries with projects for cycling will be able to expand their existing investments with additional activities. Following consultations with all eligible project partners, nearly 10 km of extra bike routes can be delivered to bridge the remaining gap of 7 km.

The proposed extensions may be located in:
🇧🇬 Sredets, Svilengrad and Elhovo
🇹🇷 Kırklareli, Keşan, Vize and Kaynarca

🔄 The additional activities will be carried out with amendments to existing projects.

📍 Do you know what is common between a military guardhouse 🪖 and gastronomy 🍽️?

They are both part of our project “Development of business and tourism potential in the cross-border region – DBTP“. In this initiative, an abandoned army building in Mezek🇧🇬 will wake up into a modern exposition centre where local farmers👨‍🌾 will show their production.

Similar hubs will sprout in 🇹🇷Lüleburgaz and Kırklareli. They will promote regional products🍷, tourism🧳 and culture🎭. Thematic events will deliver business exchange and education that will reinforce the region’s shared identity.

🚧 At the moment, the reconstruction works are at full throttle.🚀

🚀OurFuture project officially took off with the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of the Bakadzhik Visitor Centre, near Yambol.

A EUR 242 000 investment will create a modern multifunctional hall for exhibitions, education, culture and tourism. The surrounding area will be upgraded with new lighting💡, park furniture🪑, children's play facilities🛝 and landscaping🌳.

This investment totaling EUR 1M brings together the municipalities of Enez🇹🇷 and Tundzha🇧🇬. On the other side of the border, OurFuture will establish a recreational area🏖️ and introduce measures for waste collection and recycling♻️ at Altınkum Beach in Enez.

🎥The building in the video is the Visitor Centre that was revamped by the Bulgaria-Türkiye programme in the 2007-2013 period.

🚣Record-breaking participants in the 13-th national water expedition “Dolna Maritsa”.

One of our beneficiaries, Community center “Maritsa-1908” from Raynovo village, organised the event that stretched 70 km along the Maritsa river! 🛶

The paddling brought together more than 70 kayakers, the youngest was 9👧 and the oldest - 66👨‍🦳. It was also attended by firefighters from the Academy of the Ministry of Interior🚒.

Next year, the adventure will be backed by the project TOUCH from the Territorial Strategy. For the first time, the happening will cross the border between Bulgaria and Türkiye! 🇧🇬➡️🇹🇷
