On June 17, 2026, H.E. Sasenarine Singh, Ambassador of Guyana to Belgium and the European Union, hosted H.E. Marciano Edgar Armaketo, recently accredited Ambassador of Suriname, at the Embassy of Guyana in Brussels.

The courtesy meeting reaffirmed the friendship between Guyana and Suriname as neighbouring CARICOM countries and explored opportunities for cooperation in trade, connectivity, climate change, forest preservation, energy, and Brussels-based institutions including the OACPS, EU and CELAC.

With the official nomination of H.E. Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, Permanent Representative of Guyana to the United Nations, as a candidate for the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations, the interactive dialogue with the candidate has been scheduled to be convened on Thursday, 18 June, at 10 a.m. Ahead of this important engagement between Ambassador Rodrigues-Birkett and the member states of the UN, she shared the following message;

"As I embark on this journey seeking to be the next United Nations Secretary General, I begin the process with an informal Interactive Dialogue with the Membership of the United Nations, on Thursday 18 June 2026. The Government of Guyana, through the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Guyana Police Force has today (June 15, 2025) launched the new Online Guyana Passport Application and Appointment System, marking a significant step forward in the modernization of passport services and the digital transformation of public service delivery.

The new digital platform, accessible at pp.gpf.gov.gy, allows applicants to create an online account, fill passport applications electronically, provide the required information, and schedule passport appointments from the convenience of their homes or offices.

The launch forms part of President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali’s continued commitment to digitalizing public services and delivering more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centered government services across Guyana.

The Online Guyana Passport Application and Appointment System is designed to improve efficiency, reduce long lines and waiting times, minimize administrative delays, and provide a more streamlined and transparent passport application process.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲:

• Fill your passport application electronically
• Convenient online appointment scheduling
• Email notifications and appointment confirmations
• Reduced processing bottlenecks and administrative delays

According to the Minister of Home Affairs, Hon. Oneidge Walrond, M.P., “The introduction of the Online Guyana Passport Application and Appointment System marks a major milestone in our efforts to modernize government services. This platform will provide citizens with a more convenient, efficient, and user-friendly way to access passport services while reducing the need for lengthy in-person processes.”

The platform has been designed with security and user experience as key priorities, ensuring that applicants’ personal information is protected while providing a seamless digital experience.

Citizens are encouraged to access the system through the official portal at pp.gpf.gov.gy, create an account, and follow the required steps to begin the process to schedule an appointment.

The Guyana Police Force encourages all applicants to familiarize themselves with the new system and take advantage of the enhanced services now available online.
