𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹; one of the ways to fully 𝘂𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀: but 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲?
This is the question to which visionary leaders, policy experts and pioneers will try to answer, in the framework of a special event: the 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, is a major event of the Macro Regional Strategy for the Alpine area (𝗘𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗣), organized by 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝟱. It has a crucial role in bringing together the voices on alpine regions to the heart of Europe, to shape the future of digitalization in the alps.
The Conference will take place under the patronage of 𝗘𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗣 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗕𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆, as a side event of the 𝗘𝗨 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀.

𝗢𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the 𝗘𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗣 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 had the opportunity to introduce EUSALP and it’s youth-related activites, including the Youth Council itself and Pitch Your Project, to Europa Rad 2026; together with the young members of Villa Vigoni, Vigoni – the German-Italian Centre for European Dialogue who had travelled from Lake Como – a joint stand was organised.

At the stand, visitors could experience a unique alpine journey, through the activity “̲𝘙̲𝘦̲𝘢̲𝘤̲𝘩̲𝘪̲𝘯̲𝘨̲ ̲𝘕̲𝘦̲𝘸̲ ̲𝘏̲𝘦̲𝘪̲𝘨̲𝘩̲𝘵̲𝘴̲ ̲–̲ ̲𝘠̲𝘰̲𝘶̲𝘵̲𝘩̲ ̲𝘗̲𝘢̲𝘳̲𝘵̲𝘪̲𝘤̲𝘪̲𝘱̲𝘢̲𝘵̲𝘪̲𝘰̲𝘯̲ ̲𝘪̲𝘯̲ ̲𝘵̲𝘩̲𝘦̲ ̲𝘈̲𝘭̲𝘱̲𝘪̲𝘯̲𝘦̲ ̲𝘙̲𝘦̲𝘨̲𝘪̲𝘰̲𝘯̲”, learning in a playful way more about EUSALP, the Alpine Region, and related topics.
Many fruitful and interesting discussions and exchanges took place , and the Youth Council was pleased to establish new contacts and present its work to a wide audience.

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗣 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 is been a great opportunity for EUSALP Youth Council Especially in the context of the 𝗘𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗣 𝗕𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲; it’s something that our youth councilors greatly appreciated.
𝗔 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀, in particular Eva Feldmann-Wojtachnia (CAP) and Katrin Gneiting (City of Munich), as well as to all event partners: the City of Munich, the Center for Applied Policy Research (CAP) at LMU Munich, the European Commission Representation in Munich, the European Parliament Liaison Office in Munich, Europa-Union Munich, and the Bavarian State Chancellery.
Special thanks also go to YC member Robin Mannhorst for organising the Youth Council’s participation and coordinating the cooperation with Villa Vigoni. Finally, the EUSALP Youth Council extends its appreciation to current and former members – Amelie Riedl, Anna Schweinstetter, Yannick Werner, and Michael Jung – whose support and dedication contributed greatly to the success of the event.

Constructive days in Munich with the Executive Board (EB) under the Bavarian Presidency 🤝
Hosted by the Bavarian State Chancellery on 10–11 June, the session brought together key stakeholders to advance strategic coordination within EUSALP.
Key agenda points included: ✅ Discussions on the Lindau Joint Declaration, with a first draft presented and further refined towards a shared position for the upcoming General Assembly
✅ Approval of the new Youth Council mandate (𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲–𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳), together with updates on ongoing activities and contributions
✅ Further steps on EUSALP Missions, including a revised template and exchanges on current and future initiatives
✅ A first outlook on the French Presidency 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳, with initial discussions on priorities
The meeting ensured continuity of work, alignment of future priorities and strengthened cooperation across the Strategy.

Productive days in Kempten for the 𝗘𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗣 𝗔𝗜 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, bringing together students, experts, and stakeholders 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 🤝
𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 from 6–9 June, this initiative gathered participants from across the Alpine region to co-create intelligent tourism solutions for a prosperous future in times of challenges.
𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 from the programme included:
✅ 𝗔 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 combining networking and a field visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, setting the scene for key challenges in Alpine tourism.
✅ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 itself, where multidisciplinary teams of students worked intensively with experts and mentors to develop innovative, AI-driven solutions addressing regional needs.
✅𝗗𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, including workshops on pitching and structured mentoring sessions leading up to final presentations.
✅𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗮 𝗷𝘂𝗿𝘆, showcasing fresh ideas and new approaches shaped by youth perspectives.
✅ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗣 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆, featuring contributions from Eric Beißwenger (State Minister for European and International Affairs of Bavaria), Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Hauke (President of Kempten UAS), Prof. Dr. Sabine Weizenegger (EUSALP AG1), Carlo Vigna (EUSALP AG5), and Natael Fautrat (EUSALP Youth Council), highlighting the role of cooperation, innovation, and youth engagement in shaping the future of the Alpine region.
With around 𝟰𝟬 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 working in transnational teams, the event fostered collaboration, creativity, and experimentation with AI as a tool for regional development.
👏 𝗔 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺, whose ideas stood out for their creativity, feasibility, and potential to inspire future EUSALP actions in the field of sustainable tourism.
The hackathon provided a valuable platform to test 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗣, strengthen youth engagement, and generate ideas that can inspire future policies and initiatives for the Alpine region.

The AlpsLife project is building exactly this team! But such a powerful force cannot stand alone, it relies on the unique strength of three major institutional partners.

The Digital Alps Conference continues to stand out as a key platform within EUSALP to explore how digitalisation can unlock the full potential of mountain and rural territories.
📍 The 2025 edition, held on 29–30 April in Lienz (Austria) under the Austria–Liechtenstein Presidency, brought together policymakers, experts, and innovators to drive forward the Alpine digital agenda.
Highlights from hashtag included:
✅ High-level discussions on Artificial Intelligence, dataspaces, and digital transformation, focusing on concrete opportunities for the Alpine region
✅ Interactive workshops on smart communities, SMEs, digital infrastructures, and accessibility, fostering exchange of best practices and solutions
✅ A strong emphasis on future-proof infrastructures and cross-border cooperation, crucial for resilient and connected alpine territories
✅ Opportunities to connect with key stakeholders from across the macro-regional ecosystem and strengthen collaboration networks
✅ A vibrant programme combining policy dialogue, innovation showcases, and networking moments, reinforcing the role of EUSALP as a driver of digital innovation.
💡 More than a conference, Digital Alps is a hub for ideas, inspiration, and action, where digital innovation meets territorial cooperation to shape a smarter, more sustainable Alpine future.
