Barbados and Ireland marked a historic milestone with the Official Opening of the new Barbados Chancery in Dublin and the commemoration of 25 years of diplomatic relations between both nations.

The occasion was celebrated in the presence of The Honourable Mia Amor Mottley, S.C., M.P., Prime Minister of Barbados; Senator Christopher P. Sinckler, Senior Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade; and His Excellency Cleviston Haynes, the first resident Ambassador of Barbados to Ireland, alongside government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Barbadian diaspora, and specially invited guests.

This milestone reflects the enduring friendship, shared values, and growing cooperation between Barbados and Ireland over the past twenty-five years. The opening of the new Chancery also signals a renewed commitment to strengthening diplomatic engagement, cultural exchange, trade, education, and people-to-people connections between both countries.
