The documentary offers a powerful portrait of Ukraine, showing how the country continues to create, defend its values, and uphold human dignity amid Russia’s full-scale invasion through the stories of seven remarkable Ukrainians.

The film features Nobel Peace Prize laureate Oleksandra Matviichuk, singer Jamala, violinist Bohdana Pivnenko, kobzar Taras Kompanichenko, painter Anatoliy Kryvolap, the band DakhaBrakha, and cinematographer Serhii Mykhalchuk. The film will be followed by an expert panel discussion & Q&A.

We look forward to welcoming representatives of EU institutions, civil society, the diplomatic community, cultural organizations, media, and everyone interested in Ukraine and its culture.

Just hours after the US President’s peace envoys left Kyiv, Russia launched another large-scale attack on Ukraine's capital and several other regions of Ukraine.

The strikes on Kyiv killed at least two people and injured at least ten others. The capital suffered significant damage to residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.
Critical infrastructure was hit in Kyiv region, while in Odesa region, Russia struck an ordinary market. Two people were injured in Kharkiv, where an apartment building was damaged. In Sumy region, a railway locomotive was attacked at a station this morning. Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro regions also came under attack.

Ukrainian defenders destroyed 175 aerial targets overnight, but not all threats could be stopped. Ballistic missiles remain particularly difficult to intercept. Ukraine continues to raise the urgent need for more interceptors with our American and European partners.
Further meetings are taking place today with countries and companies that can help strengthen Ukraine’s air defence and support our FREYJA anti-ballistic system.

For a Ukrainian in Russian captivity, every additional minute is not just lost time – it is another risk to suffer from violence. According to the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, over 96% of released prisoners of war report torture or inhumane treatment – a systematic, deliberate policy of Russia.

Speed of decisions matters: every delay is measured in human pain. We must work together to push for an immediate "all-for-all" prisoner exchange, expand and strictly enforce sanctions on Russia, and increase diplomatic pressure – because the longer this takes, the higher the human cost.

On 2 September, Acting Head of Mission Oksana Diakun had the honour of attending the opening of the exhibition “The Eyes of War. Russia’s War Against Ukraine, Documented by Polish Photojournalists” at the European Parliament, hosted by MEP Michał Szczerba.

The exhibition is a long-term documentary project of Press Club Polska, presenting powerful photographs by Polish photojournalists who have documented Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. The project is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

As Russia continues its daily missile attacks against civilians across Ukraine, the exhibition offers a visual testimony to the reality of the war and the atrocities committed against the Ukrainian people.

We are sincerely grateful to all those who made this important initiative possible, in particular MEP Michał Szczerba, curator of the exhibition Ewa Meissner, Press Club Polska, Polish Institute in Brussels, Brussels Press Club, and the City of Gdańsk.
The exhibition opening was preceded by a panel discussion on countering Russian disinformation in Europe, highlighting the importance of strengthening our collective resilience against Russian information manipulation.

We highly appreciate our Polish partners’ continued efforts to keep the reality of Russia’s war against Ukraine in the European public space and to ensure that the truth is seen and heard.

Not a single day in August passed without a Russian attack on Ukraine.

Throughout the month, Russia kept Ukrainian cities and communities under constant threat – launching drones and missiles, dropping aerial bombs, and forcing millions of people to live around air raid alerts.

In August alone, Russia launched over 6,000 drones, including more than 2,500 Shaheds, over 200 missiles, and more than 5,000 aerial bombs against Ukraine.

Behind these numbers are nights and days interrupted by sirens, people rushing to shelters, homes and infrastructure damaged, and lives lost or changed forever.

Russia is also adapting its tactics. It launches drones in repeated waves and small groups, stretching air raid alerts for hours, and deliberately trying to exhaust both Ukraine's air defence and its people.

Russia's actions leave little doubt about its choices: day after day, it continues to choose war. Ukraine needs stronger air defence and continued pressure on Russia to stop this daily terror.

Remembering those who gave their lives for Ukraine is part of our lives.

Today is the Day of Remembrance for Ukraine’s fallen defenders – a day that reminds us of the huge price of freedom. But remembrance lives through many more ways – in the way we speak their names, honour them in our cities, and pass their stories on to others.

We remember. And we will never forget.

At the end of August, sunflowers bloom across Ukraine’s fields. It was twelve years ago, when in August 2014 these fields became the setting of the events of the Ilovaisk tragedy. As Ukrainian soldiers were leaving the encirclement through the “green” corridor, they were attacked by Russian forces.

Since then, the sunflower has become a symbol of remembrance for Ukraine’s fallen defenders. Every year on August 29, we honour all those who gave their lives defending Ukraine throughout more than 12 years of Russia’s brutal aggression.

We remember their faces, their names, their stories. We bow our heads in honour of every man and woman who gave their life for Ukraine.

Eternal memory to the fallen! 🌻🕯️

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has joined a UNITED24 fundraising campaign to purchase 10 Type-C ambulances for Ukrainian hospitals. The initiative, led by former NASA astronaut, first responder and UNITED24 ambassador, Scott Kelly, aims to raise $1,200,000 through UNITED24’s Medical Aid program.

In 2025, Ukrainian emergency medical teams responded to more than 4.5 million calls. Since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion, 495 ambulances have been destroyed or damaged, including 46 in 2026 alone. Each ambulance will help save thousands of lives. Now, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has joined this cause.

Ukrainian embassies and consulates around the world are partnering with local Ukrainian communities, international supporters, and partners to help raise the necessary funds for these vehicles.
