This important decision reflects the enduring spirit of solidarity, partnership, and shared responsibility that unites the OACPS family. It is a meaningful demonstration of the trust and support shown to Somalia as we continue our journey of national development and international cooperation.

Very pleased to meet with H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Belal, Managing Director of the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC), for a productive and meaningful discussion on strengthening Somalia’s agricultural and commodity sectors.

Our discussions focused on how Somalia can better support its farmers, producers, women entrepreneurs, and rural communities through stronger and more inclusive commodity value chains.

We emphasized the importance of humanizing commodity value chains by placing people at the center of development and trade. Commodities should not only generate economic growth, but also improve livelihoods, dignity, resilience, and opportunities for the communities behind them.

With the right partnerships and international cooperation, Somalia has strong potential to unlock its agricultural capacity, create more local value, expand market opportunities, and empower its people toward sustainable economic development.
