Last Tuesday, CCBP was represented at the opening ceremony of the New European Bauhaus 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹, with our Senior Adviser 𝗟𝘂í𝘀𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗼𝘇 attending this landmark inaugural moment.

The event opened with addresses by António Costa, President of the European Council, and 𝗨𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝘃𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝘆𝗲𝗻, President of the European Commission. Two leaders whose joint appearance on stage reaffirmed the Union's commitment to a shared vision of sustainability, cohesion, and cultural identity.

The New European Bauhaus is a 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆, 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻, 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄. Today's opening sets the stage for the conferences and summits that will unfold over the coming days, placing at the heart of the European agenda the defining questions of how we want to live, build, and belong.

A Câmara de Comércio Belgo-Portuguesa (CCBP) teve a honra de estar presente na 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮çã𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗗𝗶𝗮 𝗱𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗹, de Camões e das Comunidades Portuguesas, organizada pela PortugalnaUE, em Bruxelas.

ᴘᴛ | Hoje, dia 𝟭𝟬 𝗱𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝗻𝗵𝗼, celebra-se o 𝗗𝗶𝗮 𝗱𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗹, 𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗺õ𝗲𝘀 𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗮𝘀. Assinalando a data da morte do ilustre poeta português Luís de Camões e recordando a longa história do país, este dia é celebrado não só em Portugal, mas também no estrangeiro, por uma diáspora constituída por milhões de luso-descendentes e cerca de cinco milhões de emigrantes portugueses espalhados pelo mundo.

Last Thursday, 𝗖𝗖𝗕𝗣 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 brought together our Members for an 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 with 𝗩𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗼 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗮 𝗱𝗮 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗮, Head of Policy at Allied for Startups.

As a key policy advocacy organisation in Brussels, Allied for Startups works to 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 where decisions are made.

Vasco shared 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗨 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: a dedicated Commissioner for startups, a cross-DG taskforce and the ambitious EU.Inc / 28th Regime proposal to provide startups with a coherent single European Framework.

Today's conversation was a reminder that 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻, and that being present and engaged makes all the difference.

🇵🇹🇧🇪 Two days dedicated to 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝘂𝗺 🇵🇹🇧🇪

Last week, the Belgian-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce had the pleasure of organising two of its flagship events: 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝘁! in 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝗣𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 and the 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 in Golf du Château de la Bawette.

Together, the events brought together 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀, including entrepreneurs, investors, representatives of European institutions, financial institutions, real estate professionals, tourism stakeholders and members of the Portuguese community in Belgium.

𝗔𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝘁!, participants explored the 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀 as a destination to live, invest and do business.

The following day, the 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. Under brilliant sunshine, participants enjoyed a memorable day of golf, networking and discovery, with Super Bock helping keep everyone refreshed throughout the tournament.

📦🇵🇹 As exportações portuguesas de bens atingiram os 7,5 mil milhões de euros em março de 2026, registando um crescimento homólogo de 10,6% e uma subida de 20,9% face a fevereiro.

De acordo com os dados do INE, as Máquinas e Aparelhos mantiveram-se como a principal categoria exportadora portuguesa, representando 16,8% do total das exportações, seguidas pelos Veículos e Outro Material de Transporte e pelos Metais Comuns. ⚙️🌍📈

As exportações de Máquinas e Aparelhos cresceram mais 205,7 milhões de euros face a março de 2025, enquanto os Metais Comuns e os Minerais e Minérios também registaram aumentos relevantes.

No primeiro trimestre de 2026, Espanha continuou a ser o principal destino das exportações nacionais, seguida de França e Alemanha. Já os Estados Unidos e o Reino Unido destacaram-se como os principais mercados extracomunitários para os bens portugueses.

NATIONAL CORK OAK (SOBREIRO) DAY - JUNE 1ST

The cork oak (Quercus suber) was officially declared the national tree of Portugal in 2011.
Portugal marks National Cork Oak and Cork Day today, June 1st—a unique ecosystem that covers 22.3% of the national forest. Portugal has the world's largest area of cork oak forests, the "Montados de Sobro," recognized as some of the richest in biodiversity in Europe, serving as habitat for numerous endangered species.

Portugal is the world's largest producer of cork, representing about 46% of global production. The cork oak is widely represented in the Portuguese agroforestry landscape, with a greater presence in Ribatejo and Alentejo, occupying 720,000 hectares of the mainland territory, over 600 000 hectares are located in the Alentejo, where the agroforestry landscape known as ‘montado’ predominates. It supports an industry responsible for more than 1.1 billion euros in annual exports. It has 200 companies associated with APCOR, responsible for 85% of Portuguese exports.
Used since ancient times as a floating and sealing material — cork stoppers are still its best-known application — today cork has countless other uses, whether in civil construction (thermal and acoustic insulation), in footwear and fashion or even in the aerospace industry.

The cork oak is an evergreen, slow growing tree, which can live for more than two centuries and grow to a height of 25 metres.
The world's largest cork oak tree — the Whistling Cork Oak (Sobreiro Assobiador), 239 years old — is located in Águas de Moura, in the Alentejo region, and was distinguished in 2018 as the European Tree of the Year.
