Following the messages coming from Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Christophe Hansen of the European Commission and by Bogusław Wijatyk, Director General of the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the fifth panel dug into what is the future for the European Agriculture.

Thanks to Bart Vandewaetere (Nestlé), Petra Laux (Syngenta) Alberto Arroyo Schnell (IUCN) and Noor Yafai (The Nature Conservancy) for bringing their insights into the debate.

During session 4 of the Annual Conference of the Forum for the Future of Agriculture Deanna Kovar (John Deere), Roman Tarnovsky (Indigo Ag) and Ranveer Chandra (Microsoft) gave us a glimpse of the agriculture technologies that could positively impact the productivity and the environment.

Session Two was a fast-paced one!

Jörg-Andreas Krüger (NABU Bundesverband), Morgan Després ( Climate Foundation), Jean-Marc Peterschmitt (EBRD), Felipe Ortega Schlingmann (European Investment Bank), and Jurgen Tack (European Landowners'​ Organization) discussed a very pressing topic: how do we finance the ever-so important green transition?

Complex topic, several proposed solutions, many meaningful insights.

Panel 1 of the Annual Conference is a wrap!

Our speakers Viorel Gutu (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Luis Rua (Ministério da Agricultura e Pecuária - Mapa), Francis Malige (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)) and former EU Commissioner Mairead McGuinness answered to a critical question: 'What role should Europe play and what actions are needed to ensure resilient food systems in the current geopolitical reality?"

The necessity of balancing the willingness to negotiate and the standing the ground is truly one of the greatest challenges ahead.

Former NASA Astronaut and Professor of Mechanical Engineering Mike Massimino just delivered his motivational speech at the 2025 Annual Conference of the Forum for the Future of Agriculture and reminded us why we should do more to protect our beautiful and fragile home.

And let's not forget: we should never lose track of the big picture.
