πŸ“£πŸŒπŸŒŽπŸŒπŸ—£οΈπŸ‘₯πŸ‡§πŸ‡Ό On 11th June 2026, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Botswana to the Kingdom of Belgium, H.E. Dr. Zein Kebonang, paid a courtesy call on the Secretary-General of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), H.E. Moussa Saleh Batraki, at the OACPS Headquarters in Brussels.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss matters of mutual interest relating to the OACPS, including opportunities to strengthen cooperation among member states and advance the organisation’s shared objectives.

They also exchanged views on key development priorities, multilateral engagement, and the importance of collaboration in addressing common challenges facing OACPS countries. The two leaders further noted and welcomed the support demonstrated by Member States towards the resource mobilisation initiative led by the Kingdom of Eswatini.

This important engagement reaffirmed Botswana’s commitment to constructive participation within the OACPS framework and to fostering partnerships that support sustainable development and shared prosperity.

Dr. Zein Kebonang, with the Ambassadors of the Kingdom of Eswatini, the Kingdom of Lesotho, and the Republic of Cameroon.

During the meetings, H.E. Dr. Kebonang held discussions with H.E. Mr. Daniel Evina Abe'e, Ambassador of Cameroon and Dean of the OACPS Committee of Ambassadors; H.E. Mr. Sibusiso Mngomezulu, Ambassador of Eswatini; and H.E. Ms. Mantoetsi Liteboho Mohatonyane, Ambassador of Lesotho on matters of mutual interest relating to the OACPS, as well as broader bilateral cooperation.

πŸ“£πŸ‡―πŸ‡²βœοΈπŸͺ¦βœοΈπŸ‡§πŸ‡Ό On 5th June 2026, His Excellency Dr Zein Kebonang, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Botswana to the Kingdom of Belgium, signed the Book of Condolence at the Embassy of Jamaica in honour of Mr. Campbell, former Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica.

The visit reflected Botswana’s heartfelt sympathy and solidarity with the people and Government of Jamaica during this time of mourning, while paying tribute to a Minster Campbell, respected statesman whose contributions to public service and national development left a lasting legacy in Jamaica and beyond.

πŸ“£πŸŒπŸŒŽπŸŒπŸ‡¬πŸ‡²πŸ‡²πŸ‡ΏπŸ—£οΈπŸ‘₯πŸ‡§πŸ‡Ό His Excellency, Dr. Zein Kebonang, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Botswana to the Kingdom of Belgium, paid on 3rd June 2026, courtesy calls on Her Excellency Berta Cossa, Ambassador of the Republic of Mozambique and Chair of the Southern Africa Group of Ambassadors, and His Excellency Pa Musa Jobarteh, Ambassador of the Republic of The Gambia and Chair of the OACPS Committee of Ambassadors.

The meeting provided an opportunity for a warm and cordial exchanges on issues of mutual interest including bilateral relations, multilateral cooperation and the importance of strengthening collaboration among African diplomatic missions in Brussels. The Ambassadors exchanged views on current regional and international developments and underscored the value of African solidarity and coordination in advancing shared priorities in multilateral fora.

The discussion also touched on information exchange on diplomacy in general, adaptation and the importance of maintaining strong relations and cooperation among African diplomatic missions in Brussels.

πŸ“£πŸͺ΄πŸ—£οΈπŸ‘₯🀝πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί Committee Linking Entrepreneurship-Agriculture-Development (COLEAD.link) Agrifood Value Chains Expert, Ms. Yvonne Chileshe pays a courtesy visit to His Excellency Dr. Zein Kebonang.

COLEAD plays a fundamental role through its programmes in equipping Botswana with the necessary tools and expertise to understand European Union (EU) policies, regulatory and non-regulatory measures, standards and market trends that have a potential impact on the market access and competitiveness of agriculture value chains linked to the EU market.

During the meeting Ambassador expressed appreciation to COLEAD for their continued support to Botswana. In the past the organisation has been instrumental through the Early Detection and Exclusion System (EDES) programme in capacitating national authorities with improving systems to effectively boost the livestock industry.

He further stressed on maintaining cordial relations to ensure Botswana’s highest adherence to the EU’s regulations and standards to avoid disruption of the country’s key exports such as beef and citrus fruits into the EU market.

Botswana and COLEAD remain committed to strengthening relations and working towards ensuring maximisation of the country’s export capacity into the EU market.
