A tragic road accident has happened in Bogura, Bangladesh.
At least seven people have died.
Fifteen others were injured.
The accident happened early in the morning, at around 5:30 a.m.
It took place near Erulia Bazar on the Bogura–Naogaon Highway.
According to the Fire Service, a Dhaka-bound Shah Fateh Ali Paribahan bus lost control.
The driver was trying to let a motorcycle pass.
He suddenly applied the brakes.
The bus hit an electric pole.
Then it spun around.
After that, it ran over a group of roadside workers.
The workers were waiting for daily work.
Three people died at the scene.
Rescue teams from the Fire Service, transport workers, and local people quickly reached the area.
They rescued 18 injured people.
The victims were taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
Three more people died on the way to the hospital.
Another person later died while receiving treatment.
Most passengers on the bus were not seriously hurt.
After the accident, angry local people blocked the highway.
They demanded speed breakers to reduce speeding and prevent future accidents.
The Bogura Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer visited the accident site.
He said officials from the Roads and Highways Department had promised to install speed breakers on the road the same day.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
This heartbreaking incident is another reminder of the importance of safe driving and better road safety measures.
