On 17 December, the Grand Launching Ceremony of Textile Talent Hunt – Season 10 was held in a prestigious and elegant setting at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel. The event was graced by renowned experts from the Bangladeshi textile industry, including the Vice President of BGMEA, along with other distinguished personalities, making the occasion highly significant.

Prof. Dr. Engr. ANM Ahmed Ullah, Department of Textile Engineering, Southeast University, was present at the program as a guest. His presence added strong academic value and inspiration for the participating students.

Leading universities from across the country took part in the event. Southeast University was represented by Ahad Sarkar (Batch 54), Md. Mehedi Hasan (Batch 55), Fatema Arsha Lamia (Batch 55), and Amir Hamza Wasi (Batch 55) from the Department of Textile Engineering.

The competition is designed to identify and nurture student talent with a strong focus on textile industry development and research, providing a platform for innovation, creativity, and future leadership.

প্রিয় আলমনিবৃন্দ,
আসসালামু আলাইকুম।

বর্তমানে আমাদের TEASSEU নির্বাচনের আমেজে চারপাশ মুখরিত। আমরা সবাই মিলে নির্বাচনকে সামনে রেখে অনেক দূর এগিয়ে গিয়েছি। এর ধারাবাহিকতায় অতি স্বল্প সময়ের মধ্যে আমরা এক হাজারেরও বেশি নিবন্ধিত এলামনি সংগ্রহ করতে সক্ষম হয়েছি। সময়ের অভাবে আরও অনেকে নিবন্ধন করতে পারেননি। ইনশাআল্লাহ, নতুন এক্সিকিউটিভ কমিটি গঠিত হলে তারা বাকি এলামনিদের নিবন্ধন আরও সুন্দর ও সংগঠিতভাবে সম্পন্ন করবে। এতে একটি শক্তিশালী ও বৃহৎ নেটওয়ার্কিং ডাটাবেইজ গড়ে উঠবে, যা আমাদের জন্য অত্যন্ত ইতিবাচক হবে।

আমরা খুব অল্প সময়ের মধ্যে একটি অনলাইন ভোটিং সিস্টেম তৈরি করেছি, যার মাধ্যমে দেশে-বিদেশে অবস্থানরত সকল সদস্য একই সময়ে ভোট প্রদান করতে পারবেন। অনলাইন ভোটিং লিঙ্ক আজ রাতেই সকল মাধ্যমে জানিয়ে দেওয়া হবে। তবে লিঙ্কটি শুধুমাত্র বাংলাদেশ সময় সকাল ৯টা থেকে সক্রিয় করা হবে এবং দুপুর ৩টায় বন্ধ হবে।

বিশেষ করে যারা দেশের বাইরে আছেন, তারা অনুগ্রহ করে এলার্ম সেট করে রাখবেন যেন কেউ ভোটদান থেকে বঞ্চিত না হন। মনে রাখবেন—লিঙ্কে প্রবেশের পর আপনার নিবন্ধিত মোবাইল নম্বর অথবা ইমেইল আইডি দিয়ে লগইন করলেই OTP পাওয়া যাবে। এরপর ভোটিং প্যানেলে গিয়ে আপনার পছন্দের প্রার্থীদের নির্বাচন করে ভোট প্রদান করতে পারবেন।

ভোটিং চলাকালীন যদি কোনো কল আসে, অনুগ্রহ করে কলটি রিসিভ না করে ভোটিং প্রক্রিয়া সম্পন্ন করুন। পুরো প্রক্রিয়ায় নিজেকে মাত্র দুই মিনিটের জন্য ফ্রি রাখলেই হবে। কোনো কারণে সিস্টেমে সাময়িক সমস্যা দেখা দিলে রিফ্রেশ না করে কিছুক্ষণ অপেক্ষা করবেন; এরপর আংশিক সম্পন্ন সিলেকশনগুলো শেষ করে ভোটিং সম্পন্ন করবেন।

আগামীকাল ৫ই ডিসেম্বর গেট-টুগেদারে অংশগ্রহণের জন্য যারা নিবন্ধন করেছেন, তাদের সবাইকে ধন্যবাদ। অনুগ্রহ করে যথাসময়ে তেজগাঁও BG Press মাঠে উপস্থিত হবেন (BG Press-এর পাশেই মাঠটি অবস্থিত)।

উল্লেখ্য: দেশের বর্তমান রাজনৈতিক পরিস্থিতি বিবেচনায় কেউ যেন ভুলক্রমেও না বলে যে আমরা নির্বাচনের উদ্দেশ্যে মাঠে একত্রিত হয়েছি। মনে রাখতে হবে—আমরা এখানে শুধুমাত্র একটি মিলনমেলায় অংশ নিতে এসেছি। এখানে আমরা খাব, খেলব, আড্ডা দেব এবং একসঙ্গে আনন্দ করব।

সবার কাছে অনুরোধ—মাঠে বন্ধুসুলভ আচরণবিধি মেনে চলবেন এবং একটি সুন্দর, শান্ত ও সাবলীল পরিবেশ বজায় রাখার জন্য সতর্ক থাকবেন।

পরবর্তী নির্দেশনার জন্য অপেক্ষা করুন।

We have completed a factory visit to *Akij Textile Mills Ltd.*(ATML), Golora, Manikganj, with the students of *57th batch (Section A)*. Md. Ebrahim Shaikh and I, myself Md. Shahadat Hossain, have facilitated the visit. Special thanks to our respected Chairman Sir, Prof. Engr. Mashud Ahmed and and Md. Eanamul Haque Nizam Sir for their effort to make it happen. Students observed all the key sections of *Spinning*, *Weaving*, *Dyeing and Finishing* along with their R&D section. The students were lucky to learn their unique set up of *Fancy yarn* as well. Mr. Md. Shafikul Islam, Deputy General Manager (Spinning), was kind enough to explain different aspects of the industry to our students followed by an engaging Q&A session. The discussion also covered potential internship and job opportunities for our students.

We extended our profound appreciation for their gracious hospitality and the support they provided to our students.

MoU Signing Ceremony & Visit at Intertek Bangladesh

On 23rd September (Tuesday), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Intertek Bangladesh and the Department of Textile Engineering (DTE), Southeast University (SEU), marking a new milestone in strengthening academia–industry collaboration.

Following the MoU signing, 20 final-year students (50th Batch, DTE, SEU), accompanied by Prof. Engr. Mashud Ahmed and Dr. Md. Shamim Alam, visited Intertek Bangladesh. The visit offered students valuable exposure to cutting-edge testing and certification facilities, connecting classroom knowledge with real-world applications.

What made the event truly special was witnessing a heartwarming reunion of generations — SEU alumni, now professionals at Intertek, welcomed their former teachers and proudly guided their juniors through the labs. Through interactive sessions, they shared career insights, reflections, and encouragement, inspiring the next generation of textile engineers.

The visit concluded with meaningful discussions on fostering continued collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange between Southeast University and Intertek Bangladesh.

We extend our sincere gratitude to SEU and Intertek Bangladesh for this impactful partnership — a shining example of how education, mentorship, and industry engagement create pathways for future excellence.
