Today I will discuss something about fire damper.
One of the parts of fire separation is fire damper. Currently, the use of dampers is increasing in Bangladesh because these types of things will play a very important role in saving large factories from fire or reducing the amount of damage.

A fire damper is a crucial safety component in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Function: Fire dampers are installed within HVAC ducts and are designed to close automatically in the event of a fire. This helps prevent the spread of flames and smoke through ductwork, containing the fire to its origin and protecting other areas of a building.

Smoke Control: Many fire dampers are also equipped to block smoke, which is often more dangerous than the fire itself due to its toxicity and ability to impair visibility.

Fusible Link: Fire dampers typically operate using a fusible link, a metal component that melts at a specific temperature, triggering the damper to close. Once the temperature threshold (usually around 165°F or 74°C) is reached, the link breaks, releasing the damper to fall shut.

Installation: Fire dampers are installed at fire-resistance-rated walls and floors, typically within the plane of the wall or floor assembly. They must be properly secured and aligned to function correctly.
