Clean Water for All – Dacope, Bangladesh
In the climate-vulnerable coastal region of Dacope Upazila, Khulna, increasing salinity has severely limited access to safe drinking water, impacting health, livelihoods, and daily life.
Through the Clean Water for All initiative, a Pond Sand Filter (PSF) has been installed in Parjyanagar village, currently providing safe drinking water to approximately 400 people daily.
The project follows a community-centered and integrated approach, combining safe water access with hygiene awareness, menstrual health education, and a free medical camp to strengthen overall public health outcomes.
A pre- and post-intervention assessment indicates improved access to safe drinking water, reduced health risks, and increased community awareness on hygiene and health practices.
The project was officially inaugurated on 23 March 2026, with the participation of local and national stakeholders, ensuring strong community ownership and long-term sustainability.

প্রমত্তা শিবসার বুকে জেগে উঠা এক দ্বীপের নাম কালাবগী ফকিরকোনা দ্বীপ। আর দশটি গ্রামের মতো এটিও একটি গ্রাম ছিল। ছিল তাদের ধান ক্ষেত, মাছের ঘের, শাকসবজির ক্ষেত, ছিল প্রাইমারী স্কুল, মন্দির, মসজিদ।
কিন্তু ভয়াল আইলার কবলে পড়ে গ্রামটির ভেগিবাঁধ ভেঙ্গে যায় আর মুহুর্তে লন্ডভন্ড হয়ে যায়। জীবনের তাগিদে তখন বাঁশ, কাঠ, গোলপাতা দিয়ে ঝুলন্ত ঘর করে বসবাস শুরু করেন নদীর চরে। সেই থেকে নাম হয় কালাবগী ঝুলন্তপাড়া গ্রাম। সেই কালাবগী ঝুলন্তপাড়া গ্রাম ভাঙ্গনে ভাঙ্গতে ভাঙ্গতে নদীগর্ভে বিলীন হয় যায় বাকী মাটি টুকু। ফলে বিচ্ছিন্ন দ্বীপ গড়ে উঠে।

দ্বীপের এই মসজিদটি সেজেছে রঙ্গিন হয়ে। তারা তাদের সাধ্যের সর্বোচ্চ টুকু দিয়ে দ্বীপবাসী ঈদ আনন্দ ভাগাভাগি করে নিবে আগামীকাল।
এই জনপদের চিত্র এমনই এই দ্বীপটার প্রমাণ।দেশের সকল দ্বীপবাসীর মৌলিক অধিকার নিশ্চিত হোক।
