দৌলতদিয়া ফেরিঘাটে একটি যাত্রীবাহী বাস পানিতে পড়ে যাওয়ার সাম্প্রতিক ঘটনা আমাদের সকলকে গভীরভাবে উদ্বিগ্ন করেছে। সৌভাগ্যক্রমে অধিকাংশ যাত্রী পূর্বেই বাস থেকে নেমে যাওয়ায় বড় ধরনের প্রাণহানি এড়ানো সম্ভব হয়েছে। তবে এই ঘটনা আবারও স্মরণ করিয়ে দিয়েছে যে, জননিরাপত্তা কখনোই ভাগ্যের ওপর নির্ভর করতে পারে না।
আমরা বিশ্বাস করি, প্রতিটি দুর্ঘটনা কিংবা দুর্ঘটনা থেকে অল্পের জন্য রক্ষা পাওয়া ঘটনা সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষের জন্য একটি সতর্কবার্তা। অতীতের মর্মান্তিক ঘটনাগুলো থেকে শিক্ষা নিয়ে নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থার কার্যকর বাস্তবায়ন, নিয়মিত তদারকি এবং জবাবদিহিতা নিশ্চিত করা এখন সময়ের দাবি।
একটি দুর্ঘটনা শুধু একটি সংবাদ নয়; এর সঙ্গে জড়িয়ে থাকে অসংখ্য মানুষের স্বপ্ন, পরিবারের আশা, প্রিয়জনের অপেক্ষা এবং একটি নিরাপদ ভবিষ্যতের আকাঙ্ক্ষা। তাই দুর্ঘটনার পর শোক প্রকাশের পাশাপাশি দুর্ঘটনা প্রতিরোধে বাস্তব ও কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা অত্যন্ত জরুরি।
প্রজেক্ট বাংলাদেশ ফাউন্ডেশন সংশ্লিষ্ট সকল কর্তৃপক্ষের প্রতি আহ্বান জানাচ্ছে, ঘটনার পূর্ণাঙ্গ তদন্ত, নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থার পর্যালোচনা এবং ভবিষ্যতে এমন ঘটনা প্রতিরোধে প্রয়োজনীয় পদক্ষেপ দ্রুত গ্রহণ করা হোক। জনগণের জীবন কোনো পরিসংখ্যান নয়, কোনো ক্ষতিপূরণের অঙ্ক নয়—প্রতিটি জীবন অমূল্য।
আমরা আশা করি, এই ঘটনাকে একটি সতর্ক সংকেত হিসেবে গ্রহণ করে নিরাপদ ও দায়িত্বশীল পরিবহন ব্যবস্থা গড়ে তোলার জন্য কার্যকর উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করা হবে।

Deep Concern, Condolences, and a Call for Accountability
Project Bangladesh Foundation expresses its deep concern over the recent incident at Daulatdia Ferry Ghat, where a passenger bus reportedly fell into the river. Fortunately, most passengers had already disembarked, preventing what could have been another devastating tragedy.
This incident is a stark reminder that public safety should never depend on luck. Every accident—or near accident—must be treated as a warning, emphasizing the urgent need for stronger safety measures, proper oversight, and effective implementation of existing regulations.
Behind every transportation accident are human lives, families, dreams, and futures that can be changed forever. Therefore, preventing tragedies must remain a national priority rather than merely responding after they occur.
Project Bangladesh Foundation urges the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into this incident, review existing safety protocols, identify any shortcomings, and take immediate corrective measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Human lives are not statistics, and they cannot be measured by compensation alone. Every life is precious and deserves the highest level of protection.
