Alliance Française de Dhaka is delighted to welcome 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝘂𝗿 and 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗹 for a month-long artistic residency, bringing together music, poetry, visual art, graffiti and community engagement.
Together, 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 and 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗻 are known as 𝘾𝙄𝙏𝙊𝙋𝙄𝙍, a creative duo whose work explores connections between people, culture and the environment. During their residency, the duo will develop their ongoing REVERSE project. Through music, poetry, public art and collaborative workshops, they will work with discarded objects, elements from nature and everyday materials to create new forms of artistic expression while reflecting on consumerism, environmental care, unity and our relationship with the biosphere.
Meet the artists
🎤 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝘂𝗿 is a pioneering female emcee, with more than a decade of live performance experience. Her work explores human politics and their impact on nature, and since 2020 she has also been composing music using field recordings. Her artistic journey includes international residencies in Berlin and other projects across Europe and India.
🎨 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗹 is a multidisciplinary French artist, graffiti artist, rapper and DJ, with more than 20 years of experience. Deeply rooted in graffiti and street art culture, his practice spans large-scale public murals, canvas works and live painting, combining spray cans, brushes, upcycled papers and natural colours. Influenced by old-school hip-hop and world music, Flavien brings together different cultures, techniques and artistic disciplines, transforming public spaces and everyday materials into vibrant forms of visual expression.
Over the coming month, Manmeet and Flavien will connect, create and collaborate with the local artistic community, sharing their practices and discovering new creative perspectives in Dhaka.
Stay tuned for updates from their residency!
