𝑨𝑵 𝑨𝑷𝑷𝑳𝑬 𝑻𝑹𝑬𝑬 𝑰𝑵𝑺𝑰𝑫𝑬 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑯𝑬𝑨𝑫, a photographic encounter built around the visual journey of an 𝘂𝗻𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺.

Through a carefully curated selection of cinematic and raw photographs, the exhibition offers fragments of a story that has yet to reach the screen. Rather than revealing the film itself, the photographs invite visitors to discover its atmosphere, characters, landscapes, gestures, and fleeting moments, creating their own sense of the story through images.

The exhibition becomes a space between film and photography, reality and memory, what is seen and what remains unseen.

🎶 𝑮𝒖𝒓𝒖-𝑺𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒚𝒂 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂🎶

Thank you to everyone who joined us for ‘𝑮𝒖𝒓𝒖-𝑺𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒚𝒂 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂’, an evening celebrating the timeless bond between guru and disciple and the rich musical heritage of Bengal.

A special highlight was 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗲𝘆𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝘆, 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱-𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘇𝗿𝘂𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝘂𝗻 𝗞𝘂𝗿𝗶 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, who shared the stage with her gurus 𝗕𝗶𝗷𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 and 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗷𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿. Their performances beautifully reflected the passing of musical knowledge and tradition from one generation to the next.

Our sincere thanks to AFM Hayatullah, Dr. Priyanka Gope, all the participating artists and musicians, Surer Kheya, and above all, our wonderful audience for making the evening so special.

Alliance Française de Dhaka is delighted to welcome 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝘂𝗿 and 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗹 for a month-long artistic residency, bringing together music, poetry, visual art, graffiti and community engagement.

Together, 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 and 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗻 are known as 𝘾𝙄𝙏𝙊𝙋𝙄𝙍, a creative duo whose work explores connections between people, culture and the environment. During their residency, the duo will develop their ongoing REVERSE project. Through music, poetry, public art and collaborative workshops, they will work with discarded objects, elements from nature and everyday materials to create new forms of artistic expression while reflecting on consumerism, environmental care, unity and our relationship with the biosphere.

Meet the artists

🎤 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝘂𝗿 is a pioneering female emcee, with more than a decade of live performance experience. Her work explores human politics and their impact on nature, and since 2020 she has also been composing music using field recordings. Her artistic journey includes international residencies in Berlin and other projects across Europe and India.

🎨 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗹 is a multidisciplinary French artist, graffiti artist, rapper and DJ, with more than 20 years of experience. Deeply rooted in graffiti and street art culture, his practice spans large-scale public murals, canvas works and live painting, combining spray cans, brushes, upcycled papers and natural colours. Influenced by old-school hip-hop and world music, Flavien brings together different cultures, techniques and artistic disciplines, transforming public spaces and everyday materials into vibrant forms of visual expression.

Over the coming month, Manmeet and Flavien will connect, create and collaborate with the local artistic community, sharing their practices and discovering new creative perspectives in Dhaka.

Stay tuned for updates from their residency!
