We made a little approach to establish a library in 2000. We were some book lovers from chiora high school and of-course there were our friends, we thought it would be a good idea to involve our school students as well as college students from chiora with reading books. Initially we started sharing books, collecting books from different sources. than we started thinking of start a library with som
e activities like,(Boi pora kormosuchi, Essay Writing, Reading Competition) etc.When we realized that it is a great responsibility and expensive for us to make it to happen than the library had a great opportunity to linked with Bissho Shahitto Kendro. The program Cordinator from the Bissho Sahitto Kendro(Sumon Bhai) and his team visited our library and gave us some valuable suggestions and support. With that Support and Encouragement we named the Library as Pathok Somabes, and started to gather more student, respected local readers, started distribution of books to them. As we got huge response and feedback from our valued readers, With that huge responses we expanded the ideas and asked for local social support. We, than visited some of nearest schools, colleges and communities to join our activities. Library Activities covers the Social, traditional, sports, Educations, discussions, Entertainment, more over communicate with the people and their thought and knowledge. Pathok Somabes is not just a library of books, we consider it as a house of soul where everyone get the pleasure of living.. A library of wisdom, then, is more precious than all wealth, and all things that are desirable cannot be compared to it.
