GIS Day is next week and this year, we’re celebrating how spatial thinking connects us all. 🎉

Everyone’s spatial thinking learning journey is unique. For Samantha Morrell, who works in agriculture, and McKenzy MacKay, who works in finance, it started as a way to solve real challenges. Today, Samantha uses location data to make farming more sustainable, while McKenzy uses it to plan new sites and forecast revenue.

GIS Day is almost here. This year we’re celebrating how spatial thinking connects us all 🌏

Take the city of Berkeley, California where locals use a traffic circle viewer that shows how location can bring people together. The traffic circle viewer enables locals to volunteer to look after nearby traffic circles, keeping them clean and green. The map shows which ones are available, who’s caring for them, and what needs attention. It’s a simple way to turn spatial data into community action.
