Bookings for our Term 4 Parent/Teacher interviews are now open. An email has been sent to all our families with information on how to make a booking.
We look forward to discussing your child's progress with you- and we are offering three flexible options for families to meet with teachers- face to face, phone and TEAMS.

With so much happening at YSS we are still sharing some of the amazing things that happened at the end of Term 3. In another celebration of the hard work that happened over the term, 5W were excited to welcome their parents and carers into the classroom to share and celebrate their learning.
The special afternoon provided students with an opportunity to proudly showcase some of the wonderful work they had completed throughout the term. Families explored students’ English, Mathematics, HASS, Design Technology and other learning activities, while students shared their favourite pieces and talked about what they had learned.
It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase not only students’ academic achievements, but also their creativity, effort, independence and personal growth throughout the term.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who took the time to visit our classrooms, encourage the students and celebrate their successes with us. The pride and enthusiasm shown by the students made the afternoon a truly special way to finish Term 3 in 5W- well done!

With some news from the classroom and to share some of the amazing work our students are engaged in.
1M discovered that when a dinosaur died their bones were buried in the mud. Over time lots of layers of mud and even volcanic ash covered the dinosaur in heaver layers where the minerals for the earth seeped into the bones turning them into rock this was called fossilisation.
The Invisible Boy by Patrick Barton. We were learning to understand how our words and actions can make others feel excluded or invisible, and how they can also help others feel included, valued and cared for.

WOW! Thank you to our amazing Yeppoon State School Parents & Citizens for supporting this initiative- here is an excerpt from their page because we couldn't say it any better! 👏 🎉

Wow… what a turnout 💛
Yesterday, our very first YSS Community Catch-Up was absolutely amazing 🤩

Almost 100 members of our Yeppoon State School community came together for a relaxed afternoon of great company, good music, treats and of course, the FREE sausage sizzle. 🌭🎶

Yeppoon State School and the Yeppoon State School Parents & Citizens share a strong belief in the importance of connection and creating a school community where everyone feels welcome. 💛

It was so great to see families and staff connecting and enjoying time together outside the classroom.

So, what do you think YSS… should we do it again? 👇

Our fortnightly parades allow us to recognise those students who come to school every single day and display our expectation of being Safe, Respectful Learners. The Superhero Award is a peer voted award - which means not only have the staff observed these qualities but so have students.
A huge congratulations to our current SUPERHEROES! What an honour for you and how lucky are we to have you as YSS students.
