Unfortunately, our magpies are active at the front of our school on Taranganba Road. After seeking advice and we will be arranging removal of the nest and relocation of the adult birds. Dismount bikes when riding in this area. Students who ride from the top end of school should lock bikes at the top racks, Students riding from the roundabout will need to get off bikes near the car park to reduce the risk of swooping. We are actively working on this issue to reduce risk for our students and the community.

On Thursday our chess teams competed in the Central Queensland Interschool Chess Tournament, where students played seven rounds throughout the day.

Congratulations to Vincent, who had an outstanding tournament, winning all seven of his games to take out 1st place.

We were also proud of the resilience shown by all of our players. Some of our Year 2 and Year 3 students found themselves matched against Year 5 and Year 6 competitors, but embraced the challenge and gave their best in every game.

The tournament provided valuable learning opportunities, and students are already working on strengthening their defensive strategies for future competitions.

Congratulations to our Puzzle Club team on their outstanding result in the Online State Jigsaw Puzzle Competition, placing 1st in the state. What an incredible achievement!

Puzzle Club has become a popular lunchtime activity at school, with students enjoying the challenge of working together to complete increasingly difficult puzzles.

As a result of winning first place, Taranganba State School has now qualified for the National Jigsaw Puzzle Championships online on the 6th November.

Year 4 Camp was a fabulous learning experience for our students. Rock climbing, crate climbs, initiative games, bush skills, orienteering and archery tag. Working to build independence, resilience, cooperation and communication. Thanks to staff for making this happen, parents for supporting their students learning and growth and all the behind the scenes work in our office. They will sleep well!
