๐Ÿพ Meet PD Bruno and PD Xero, the newest four-legged members of the Rockhampton Dog Squad, alongside their handlers, Senior Constable Riki Stewart and Senior Constable Michael Festing.

After successfully completing an intensive 12-week training program, the general purpose German Shepherds are now trained to track offenders, locate missing persons, search for evidence, and apprehend offenders.

While an existing position is being filled, the establishment of one new handler and police dog further strengthens the Rockhampton Dog Squadโ€™s capacity to support our frontline officers and respond to incidents across Rockhampton, keeping our local community safe.

Welcome to the team, PD Bruno and PD Xero! ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ‘ฎ

Before heading out on the water, make sure your Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) is registered to you and your boat and all your information is up to date ๐Ÿšค A registered beacon gives search and rescue crews critical information in an emergency and helps prevent unnecessary call-outs from false alarms.

Donโ€™t forget to check your EPIRB battery ๐Ÿ”‹ If itโ€™s expired, it may not transmit for the required time when you need it most.
