Members of the Yeppoon SES Group proudly displayed the SES 50-Year Anniversary Flag at several locations around Yeppoon, including Wreck Point, the Yeppoon Lagoon and our own SES Headquarters.
This year marks 50 years of service for the SES, and it was a proud moment for our volunteers to come together and celebrate the dedication and commitment of members who support their communities during storms, floods, searches and many other emergencies.
Also pictured in one of the photos is Robert Jeacocke, who himself has proudly served 50 years in the SES, an incredible milestone and a true example of dedication to helping others.

Last night our Yeppoon SES volunteers took part in a night training exercise focused on casualty handling and rescue scenarios.
The session was organised by Phoebe and Brandon, and considering it was arranged at short notice, they both did an outstanding job running the training.
Exercises like this help our volunteers practise working together, managing casualties and making decisions under pressure so we are ready when our community needs us.
Well done to everyone involved.

Last night our team conducted a Land Search Exercise at Pebble Beach.
The scenario involved locating a missing person, transferring them by flood boat, and providing first aid for a suspected snake bite.

These exercises help ensure our volunteers are prepared for real-life emergencies.

This SES Week, we say a huge thank you to all our amazing Yeppoon SES Volunteers and their families.

Your dedication, countless hours of training, and tireless support during storms, floods, searches and community events make a world of difference. Behind every volunteer stands a family who also gives their time, patience and encouragement and we deeply appreciate you too.

Thank you for everything you’ve done, and continue to do, for our community.

Supporting Our Community – Level Up Program
Yeppoon SES is proud to support The Real Group and their Level Up Program, an initiative we’ve been involved with for the past couple of years.

This program offers three 12-week courses aimed at helping young people aged 15–19 who are disengaged from school and need extra support with education, employment, or training. Participants work towards completing a Certificate I in Skills for Vocational Pathways.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to work with the students again – this time. A chat with Raylene, a tour of the building and showing them how to prepare a stretcher and safely lift a casualty.

A big thank you to Raylene and Rennae for being there to assist, just as they did during the last session. Also thank you to Elise for bringing the students along. Your continued support makes all the difference!

Last Monday night.
Despite the wet and cold weather and low turnout, we still made the most of it with a small-scale land search exercise. A great opportunity for some of our newer members to get hands-on experience and practice key search techniques. Thanks to those who braved the weather and came along!

Monday night's training focused on Traffic Control, an essential skill for keeping our communities safe during emergencies.
It was great to see some of our new members come along to observe - they're already showing strong enthusiasm and a keen interest in becoming qualified across a wide range of courses.

Over the weekend, the SES provided invaluable support at the annual Yeppoon Show, efficiently managing gate takings and assisting with various tasks throughout the event. Their presence significantly contributed to the seamless ex*****on of the event, benefiting both attendees and organisers. The day culminated in a spectacular fireworks display, which proved to be a major highlight for the crowd. A sincere expression of gratitude is extended to all SES volunteers for their tireless efforts and dedication to community service.

A big thank you to the Queensland Police Service (QPS) team who joined our Yeppoon Group on Monday night along with Emu Park, Keppel Sands and Stanage Bay Groups.

Members had the unique opportunity to learn about: Protecting and Preserving a Crime Scene,
Fingerprinting Analysis and DNA Sample Collection and other relevant topics that were useful for members to know.

It was a fascinating and interactive evening with plenty of questions and hands-on learning. We’re grateful for the chance to connect directly with the team and gain a deeper understanding of their important work.

Thanks again to QPS for an engaging and educational session!
