Yass Valley Men's Shed This page is for the Yass Valley Men's Shed which is a community organisation to support men's health and wellbeing. The membership is diverse too.

General Information on Men’s Sheds

The common theme in all Sheds throughout Australia (there are more than 1,000 now established) is about men feeling useful and contributing to their communities, learning or sharing their skills, making friends, networking and availing themselves of health information programmes and opportunities. Activities within Sheds are many and various: woodwork, metal wor

k, restoration of old cars, “portable” Sheds taken to Alzheimer facilities or mobile Sheds for remote country areas. Men from all backgrounds, ethnic and social mixes can enjoy a Men’s Shed, bringing their unique cultural characteristics to enliven the activities

Our Shed was asked by Council to consider recycling some timber recovered from the Crago Mill.
President Peter Davidson and Craftsman Kent Donnelly together with Mayor Jasmin Jones and CEO Gayleen Burley unveiled the completed benches in the foyer of the Council Admin building, following this mornings opening ceremony.
Congratulations and thank you to Council. Our shed can now claim these two works of art in addition to the Mayors gavel, which was previously completed by our craftsman Roger Holgate.
