Our Firstival event this year is:
A Beginners guide to Astrology - meet your cosmic self for the first time.
In this 2 hour workshop, our facilitator, Victoria will introduce the 4 tenets of Astrology – The Planets, the Signs, the Houses and the Aspects.

A friendly, casual and relaxed group that gathers to enjoy a chat and have a cuppa while each member starts, finishes or continues with a craft project of their own.

Inspire young minds during the July school holidays at 𝑰𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆 2026, a two-day celebration of storytelling, creativity and imagination at the Yankalilla Library.

Designed to encourage literacy skills in children across the Fleurieu Peninsula, this unique event creates a positive and engaging environment where young people can experience the joy of storytelling in its many forms.

From creative writing to illustration, participants will have the opportunity to explore their imagination, develop new skills and bring their stories to life. Evening sessions are also available for anyone interested in story writing and illustration.

A new jigsaw has appeared and we are pretty proud to show you the impressive inroads our favourite 'jigsawian' has made in just one day!!
Are you into jigsaws but don't have room at home to do them - come to the library and help complete our community jigsaws.

Wiggle and Giggle - Yankalilla Library
30 minutes of wiggling, jumping, dancing, music, singing and giggling for children 0-5 years (and parents/ grandparents/ caregivers!).
No need to book, just come with your little one and be ready for fun!

Two locals have spent the afternoon with us taking advantage of our new mobile tablet tables combined with comfy chairs - studying with the ability to see nature is a great way to get the best of both worlds!

Lifelong learning is what modern libraries promote and support within their communities.

Echoes of Exploration: Colonel Light’s Campsite Rediscovered at Rapid Bay
Taylor Lupp amateur historian showcases her discoveries and research of what is believed to be the basecamp of colonel Light and his survey crews 1836 campsite at Rapid Bay. Using metal detecting and extensive research Taylor has uncovered items which will be on display from this historic site. Hear all about what has been unearthed.
