Earlier in the year we asked you what this area was going to be for. Did you guess right? As part of plans drawn up a decade ago back in 2013, another piece of the Tennis Court Reserve has fallen into place, this time with thanks to Latrobe City Council and Latrobe Health Assembly. It's an outdoor table tennis table! Attached are some pics of the area: before; the initial graphic proposal; during works; and after completion. Granted it's wet today, but it has arrived just in time for the summer weather to begin. So get ready to bring your own paddles and balls for some summer fun and exercise! 🏓🏓🏓 Good things come to those who... plan accordingly and make it happen!

Yallourn North Hall and Recreation Reserve Committee of Management, receives an annual maintenance grant from Latrobe City Council.

This enables us to be able to provide maintenance and minor refurbishment works, whilst assisting with the ongoing running costs.

With this year's funding, saw the replacement of 3 hot water services, and much needed TLC provided to the oval, where it was scarified, swept and Verti draining as well treating for weeds.

Thank you, Latrobe City Council, for your continuing support.

The two last remaining down light fixtures from the old movie theatre days were removed from the hall during recent works in the ceiling. They were located centrally down the hall and were the smaller of two types. The larger type were where the fluro bulbs are today and were removed well over 30 years ago. The large bulb pictured was found amongst the rafters and would have came from one of the larger down lights. The fixtures and bulbs have been donated to The Old Brown Coal Mine Museum for them to give some tlc and be added to their collection. Maybe they can figure out how many coats of paint are on them!

Back in December 2021 we promised something exciting up under the dome. Well it took a bit longer than expected, but what a change! The hall should be warmer for your functions over winter, and there’s an access ‘crawl way’ for trades and Moartz too. The insulation has been in the pipe works for a decade, and the crawl way for many years too. There’s always things happening, sometimes it’s just behind the scenes. The team are still working on bigger much needed projects also. Please consider Monash Hall for your next function. So get in touch for details.
