SOUTH KINCUMBER-
While our Tanker crew continued fire protection at Calga, our Pump crew were called to a 3rd alarm structure fire in South Kincumber at 5:25pm.
Resources were severely stretched due to the commitment of many resources at the Calga Fire. Requiring some Sydney and Newcastle crews to standby at Central Coast stations.
First arriving crews were able to gain access to commence fire attack but unfortunately the fire quickly took hold. Forcing crews to withdraw from the house to attack from an external positions.
Despite the best efforts of crews the house was totally destroyed by fire. Once ventilation and primary investigations has been completed, crews begun to be stood down around 9pm and the scene was handed over to NSW Police. Crews including 509 continued rotating through fire duty throughout the early morning and into today.
