Koala Karaoke is back ๐ŸŽค

Weโ€™re looking for land managers across the Southern Tablelands to help us listen in on the local koala population. During breeding season, male koalas become much more vocal, giving us the perfect opportunity to detect where theyโ€™re living using small audio monitors.

Keen to help? If you have property with koala habitat between Bombala and Queanbeyan, on both sides of the Monaro Highway, we'd love you to register ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://bit.ly/3TPq9pX

This is a great opportunity to learn about the basics to care for macropods.

In NSW, wildlife carers must be a member of a licensed wildlife group, be trained up and be mentored by experienced carers and coordinators to give the joeys the best possible chance of recovery and survival back into the wild.

Please call your local wildlife group Native Animal Rescue Group - 24/7 NARG 4846-1900 or Wildlife Rescue South Coast Inc to see what is required and enrol into this amazing upcoming macropod course.

Today, May 26, is a deadline to help wombats. The ACT Government released a draft technical paper with anecdotal stories claiming how bad wombats are for erosion, water quality, etc., with no scientific evidence. They have added recommendations that create a pathway to declare wombats a "controlled native species", which means landholders can apply for a permit to shoot healthy and/or treatable wombats.

If you're a Canberra resident, sign the petition here: epetitions.parliament.act.gov.au/details/e-pet-015-26

If you live outside the ACT, sign here: www.change.org/p/save-our-wombats

Wombats are doing it tough already with huge habitat loss, disease, injury and car-related deaths, so let's stop them being deliberately harmed.
