Wundowie Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade

Wundowie Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade This is the official page of the Wundowie Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade

The Wundowie Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade was formed in 2018 by the Shire of Northam to increase bush fire response capability to the Wundowie Bush Fire District. The creation of the brigade has allowed interested community members to join the Shire of Northam Bush Fire Service and play their part in protecting their community from the ever increasing threat of bush fire. The Wundowie Bush Fire Dis

trict is made up of the Wundowie Townsite that is serviced by the Wundowie Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service, and several large rural-residential subdivisions, including the Maurivillo & Bodeguero estates. Wundowie is home to approx 1,400 residents and is situated in an area of large natural bush reserves with a mix of Jarrah & Marri forrest types.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Open Burning Period๐Ÿ”ฅ

As of Tuesday 28 April 2026, at 00:01 the Shire of Northam will enter the Open Burning Period due to improved weather conditions.

Due to the sustained fuel dryness, the Shire encourages all residents to ensure that their planned burn is conducted safely to ensure your fire does not pose a threat to the community.

Remember your burn is your responsibility, and as such it's important to remind all residents conducting burning to be mindful of your neighbouring properties, and the impact the smoke from your fire may have on infrastructure such as roads and highways.

Always register your burn with the DFES Communications Centre on 9395 9209, to limit our volunteer firefighters from being called out unnecessarily.
