🔥UNRESTRICTED BURNING PERIOD 🔥

From Monday 1st June unrestricted burning is permitted in Shire of Mundaring. There are no restrictions during this time, but please burn responsibly and take care.

Please take care and consider the following: ✅⬇️

* Smoke is managed around surrounding properties and over the road 💨
* Notify your neighbours, few days prior to the burn if possible and on the day ☎️
* You are properly equipped 🧯💦
* Mineral earth breaks are around the area being burnt 🌳
* Register your burn on 9395 9209 to avoid a false alarm ☎️📍
* Check piles for wildlife — quendas, bobtails, echidnas, frogs, snakes and more often hide in piles for warmth and protection 🐭

* Safer alternatives: Consider mulching, composting or using your FOGO bin. You can also drop off unlimited green waste at the Shire’s Community Recycling Centres.

Last night the brigade held its AGM!
We welcomed Deputy Cheif Bush Fire Control Officer Ian Zlatnik from the Shire of Mundaring to chair our AGM.

With special guests Dave Grills - Councillor - Shire of Mundaring East Ward and former councillor for East Ward Neridah Zlatnik.

Thank you to all our members for their hard work and dedication over the 2025/2026 season, and to those who held a leadership role within that time. While fighting fires is our main priority there is countless work that needs to be done behind the scenes to keep the brigade functioning, and job that simply couldn’t be done without the fantastic group of people that give their time to the brigade and the community.

A special shout out to Lesley!
Lesley has been an amazing captain to the brigade over the past five years, being captain wasn’t initially on the cards for her but she stepped up at time where there was no one else ready to take on the role, through the highs and lows she has been a wonderful leader and mentor to all, especially our up and coming captain who has learnt so much from her and her time as captain.

Congratulations to the members who were elected into brigade roles.

Roles elected for the 2026/2027 year are -
Captain – Katina Sweeney
1st Lieutenant – Lesley Lynam
Secretary – Nickie King
Treasurer – Diane Rasteiro
Training Officer – Lesley Lynam
Equipment Officer - Gordon Waddingham
