Two decades on, the law still stands. Working smoke alarms on every level of your home. Test them monthly and replace them every 10 years.

Today, we honour the lives lost and all those impacted by the Bondi Beach terrorist attack. As a mark of respect, station flags will be flown at half-mast on Thursday 22 January for the National Day of Mourning.

At 7.01pm AEDT, we encourage our community to pause for one minute of silence, reflecting together on loss, compassion, and unity.

From all of us here at Woolgoolga 507 - Merry Christmas Woopi! 🎅🎄

Our friend Bernie has one last message for our community.

“What a journey it’s been!

From safety tips and community events to teaming up with firies, ambos, police and surf lifesavers, I’ve loved popping up around town to help share one simple message - look after each other.

Today is all about family, friends and time together - the things that matter most. Whether you’re celebrating big or small, at home or by the beach, I hope your day is filled with laughter, kindness and care. Hold those who mean the most to you that little tighter, make that call or send that message to those near and far and have a wonderful day!

Thank you for welcoming me into your community and for taking the time to think about safety this Christmas.

Fire and Rescue Woolgoolga are always nearby if you need them — even on Christmas Day.

I’ll be heading back into hiding now… but who knows?

Santa will once again join the crew for our special Christmas Eve run 🚒 making stops at Safety Beach playground and Woolgoolga Beach reserve 🏖️
