The City of Charles Sturt is inviting Expression of Interest (EOI) for future use and activation opportunities for Council-owned properties located at:
- 136 North Street, Henley Beach โ€“ located adjacent to the Henley & Grange RSL
- 196A Military Road, Henley Beach โ€“ former Henley & Grange Community Centre

The EOI is an opportunity to explore how these sites could be used in the future in ways that deliver positive outcomes for the City of Charles Sturt community, the local precinct and Council assets.

We are keen to hear from a broad range of interested parties, including community organisations, not-for-profit groups, educational institutions, businesses, social enterprises and government agencies.

โ„ As winter sets in, the challenges for people experiencing homelessness become even greater - and our community is stepping up once again to help where they can. ๐Ÿ’›

Wanting to make a meaningful contribution, the Banners to Bags group at 19 on Green in Brompton once again put their skills to work. They repurposed old vinyl banners into toiletry bags, filling each with essential items for women experiencing homelessness.

Recently, Pam (Banners to Bags) met with Lynette (Catherine House - Support for Women Experiencing Homelessness) to hand over this yearโ€™s donation on behalf of the group.

Lynette said winter can be one of the toughest times for people experiencing homelessness, with demand for support at its highest.

โ€œWhat makes these types of donations so meaningful is that each item from Pamโ€™s team came directly from our high-needs wish list, requested by the women we support themselves.

โ€œWhen someone donates to that list, those items go directly to her personalised product order... For a woman navigating one of the hardest times of her life, receiving something she actually needs sends a powerful message โ€“ that she matters and that the community is behind her,โ€ said Lynette.

Items on the high-needs list range from bed socks and pads to face towels and hair brushes.

Pam said the Banners to Bags group was โ€œvery proud of the job they do to help the women in need, as well as feeling pleased that they are stopping the banner material ending up in landfill.โ€

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us under the sunshine for Coastal Sounds.

To the incredible artists, dedicated volunteers, welcoming venues, and everyone who came along (including our four-legged friends) thank you for helping make the day so special.

Coastal Sounds wouldnโ€™t have been the vibrant celebration it was without the support of our amazing community. Your enthusiasm for local music, art, and connection is what brings this event to life.

Thanks for being part of it. Until next time ๐ŸŒŠ

๐Ÿ“š๐ŸšŒ One of the favourite regular stops for Moby, our City's mobile library, is the Henley High School Supported Learning Centre.

These visits give students the opportunity to discover new books, build confidence and enjoy reading in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

๐Ÿ“– "Cool books" โ€“ Liam
๐ŸšŒ "I like that I can go in the bus" โ€“ Olivia
๐Ÿ“š "I like the books" โ€“ Jordan
๐ŸŽง "Mark is going to get me a talking book" โ€“ Asmaa
๐ŸŒˆ "I like the bright colours in the bus" โ€“ Moti
โญ "I like everything about the Mobile Library" โ€“ Aiden

We love seeing the excitement Moby brings with every visit and can't wait for the students to see Moby's new look!
