Woodford Rural Fire Brigade, Blue Mountains NSW Professional Unpaid Firefighters As a volunteer fire brigade, we serve the needs of our community in Woodford, as well as throughout the Blue Mountains.

This includes fire activities, assistance in storm damage, search/rescue - in fact any kind of emergency incident. At times we can be called on for duties around, and outside the state.

*We are always looking for new members to join. You can be come a fire fighter, or simply help us out around the shed. No pressure, no specific time committment - just give what you can. Woodford is a "family fri

endly" brigade. You can be a fire fighter from age 16 (parents permission needed for 16/17 year olds). Cadets begins at age 14.

FUEL MANAGEMENT BURN NOTIFICATION | BLUE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK
Crews from NPWS will be undertaking an important Hazard Reduction (HR) burn commencing Thursday 9 April 2026.
This HR will be a continuation of the Massif Ridge HR in the Blue Mountains National Park, south of Woodford/Linden/Faulconbridge.
Smoke from this burn will be visible from across the Blue Mountains and Penrith LGAs. Please only call Triple Zero (000) if you see an unattended fire.
Parts of Blue Mountains National Park will be closed until the area is deemed safe.

Absolutely No fires tomorrow!!

It’s a very hot day tomorrow a top of 41 degrees with winds predicted 35-45km/h from the North West. With humidity in low teens

- These are dangerous fire conditions.

- Check your bushfire plan and ensure that your property is fire ready.

- If a fire starts, take immediate action. If you and your property are not prepared to the highest level, go to a safer location well before the fire impacts.

- Reconsider travel through bushfire risk areas.
