🐮Casino Beef Week 🐮

Yesterday we took our Preschool children on an excursion down to Casino Beef Week. Over the past two terms we have been learning all about ‘Paddock to Plate’ and how we get our food from the paddock to our plates.🌱🌱Our children have really taken a liking to this learning journey, so we continued to extend their learning by engaging in our local community event, Beef Week.
When on our adventure at Beef Week, we called in to the Art Gallery, had lunch at Achieve, walked the streets looking at all the window displays and said hello to the Woodenbong School lead steers.

A big thank you to Achieve for having us for lunch and the Beef Week committee for hosting such a wonderful event.

What better way to stay warm in this weather than with homemade potato and leek soup and homemade bread rolls. We are all excited to extend our knowledge of paddock to plate with next weeks excursion to beef week. 🐮

Today our Preschool celebrated our wonderful mums by hosting a Mother’s Day morning tea 💐🌸💐

A big Happy Mother’s Day to all our wonderful mums, aunties and grandmothers, we hope you had a special day 🌷🌹🌻

Today we celebrated international firefighters days. Some of our local heroes welcomed us into the fire station and gave us the opportunity to explore the station, the trucks and even have a go on the fire hose. A huge shout out to the Woodenbong fire station for making such a huge effort to engage the children and meet their learning needs. We had some very tired but happy children upon our return to preschool.

Our collaborative art project 🎨🖼️

Recently our children have taken a real liking to working together on an art project. Through this learning experience our children explore different colours and textures of paints, while exploring their creativity. Our children learn to cooperate and work together to achieve the same goal.
This learning experience provides our children with the opportunity to foster their social skills as they learn important life skills such as cooperation, communication and teamwork.

Learning Outcome 4:1 Children develop a growth mindset and learning disposition such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity.

This term our children have been involved in learning all about plant and animal life cycles. 🐥🌱

Over the last 21 days our children have been engaged in hands on learning around the life cycle of a chicken. 🐥🐣

We wanted to extend on our children’s understanding and learning around the life cycle of a chicken by proving them with the real experience to watch chickens develop and hatch through an incubator.🐣

Our children have been able to foster their understanding around learning about the life cycle of a chicken, while actively being involved in marking off each day of the chickens development, candling the eggs, and watching the chicks began to crack out of the eggs.

This learning experience provides our children with a greater understanding around the life cycle of a chicken, while fostering their nurturing skills, processing skills, communication skills and more.

Learning Outcome 2.4 Children become socially responsible and show respect for the environment

Learning Outcome 4.1 Children develop a growth mindset and learning dispositions such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity.
