👩‍🍼 This week is Infant Mental Health Awareness week ( 8-14 June)

This year's theme is Attunement, which is to focus on noticing, understanding and responding to another person's emotional state in a sensitive and appropriate way.

In our baby playgroup we set up simple sensory activities to allow carers to notice small moments with their infant, a smile, a giggle, a blank stare or if their baby wanted another baby to talk to. 👶🏽

Babies as young as a few months old can change their mood/ emotional reactions depending on the emotional state or behaviours of caregivers.
Being attuned allows you to know what your baby wants and needs. 🧡

Important Information For Survivors

There will be an alert test on all mobile devices across Australia on 27 July 2pm.

The Australian Government is launching AusAlert – a new national warning system that sends emergency messages to compatible mobile devices including:
- mobile phones,
- smart watches,
- tablets.
Alerts can also be received on children’s safety watches and Apple CarPlay devices.

It is designed to help keep Australians informed so they can act quickly during local and national disasters.

🚨AusAlert may increase risk for people experiencing violence, especially if they live with someone who uses violence. Alerts may expose safety devices.

There are two types of AusAlerts:
🔸Critical AusAlerts are used for the most serious emergencies. You can't turn them off. Your device will alert you even if it’s on ‘silent’ or ‘do not disturb’.

🔸Priority AusAlerts are used when there is an increased risk and conditions are changing. They can be silenced by switching your device to 'silent' or 'do not disturb'.
