🔥TOTAL fire ban in place now until midnight Monday . 🔥

Keeping grass short around the outside of the house and is a good idea -BUT take precautions when mowing and slashing - a spark from a stone hitting a mower blade can turn into a 🔥 pretty quick .

FIRE BAN is extended to Monday 6 November.

You know the drill guys . In addition to the fire ban - try and leave grinding , welding , slashing and mowing for another time , and if you must do it, make sure you have water and tools with you to get on top of any sparks immediately. It only takes a minute for things to get very untidy ….

News update: 🔥
Local fire ban for North Coast Region residents
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) has imposed a local fire ban for North Coast Region residents.

The local fire ban will be in place from 0001hrs on Wednesday 25 October for residents in the Bundaberg, Fraser Coast, Gympie, North Burnett, South Burnett and Cherbourg Local Government Areas.

Current fire conditions are perfect for bushfires to ignite and spread quickly.

Under a local fire ban all open fires are prohibited and all Permits to Light Fire which have been issued in the designated areas have been cancelled for the duration of the ban.

Power tools may be used during a local fire ban however QFES encourages people to use these with extreme care and ensure adequate equipment is available to extinguish any fire which may start.

This may include having a person available to watch out for any ignitions that occur.

The ban is expected to remain in place until 2359hrs on Monday 30 October.

Information on fire bans and the exemptions that can apply can be found on the QFES website

And a shout out to our first officer Ian Beattie , Sandy from Theebine rural fire brigade and Cody from Cedar Pocket Rural Fire Brigade .

They arrived back at the shed at 10am this morning from several days fire fighting at Baffle Creek , stopped just long enough to grab a bottle of water from the fridge and headed straight out to fight the fire on the mountain .

Just found this message on our DM’s and we couldn’t agree more !
