Hello to our dear friends and community! ❤️

We have recently been going through some of our old documents and records, and what a lovely experience it has been!

We have uncovered so many wonderful historical items from the Centre and its 42-year history, as well as many special pieces and memories from the Macedonian community and the wider community over the years.

Amongst the treasures we have found are a few funny little items that we are sure many of you will remember and relate to! They certainly brought a smile to our faces and reminded us of just how much has changed and how much has stayed the same.

Our culture is strong, our memories are precious, and our community is even stronger. ❤️

We look forward to sharing some of these little pieces of history with you along the way.

2026 CENSUS – FINAL “FILL IN THE FORM” SESSION

A reminder that the final Census “Fill in the Form” session will be held this Monday, 24 August 2026, from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Location: Macedonian Welfare Association of NSW Inc
Corner of Allan Street and Wentworth Lane, Port Kembla NSW 2505

Census Field Officers from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) will be available to assist community members with completing their Census form and answer any questions.

This is a free session, and everyone is welcome.

This is the final session, so we encourage anyone who needs assistance to take advantage of this opportunity.

2026 Census – Fill in the Form Sessions

The 2026 Census is fast approaching, with Census Day on 11 August 2026.

We understand that completing the Census form can be challenging, particularly for people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

To help make the process easier, the Macedonian Welfare Association, in partnership with the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), is hosting "Fill in the Form" sessions.

A Macedonian-speaking Census Field Officer from the ABS will be available to assist you with completing your Census form and answer any questions you may have.

Session Dates:
• Monday, 10 August 2026 – 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
• Monday, 24 August 2026 – 9:30 am to 4:00 pm

Popisot na naselenieto 2026 se približuva brzo, a denot za popis e 11 Avgust 2026 godina.

Svesni sme deka popolnuvanjeto na formularot za popis može da bide teško, osobeno za licata od kulturno i jazično raznovidni zaednici (CALD).

Za da pomogneme vo ovoj proces, ovaa godina Makedonskoto Združenie za Socijalna Pomoš vo partnerstvo so ABS (Australian Bureau of Statistics) organizira „Sesii za popolnuvanje na formularot“.

Zaedno so ABS, organiziravme dve sesii na koi Makedonski terenski službenik od Timot za Popis ke bide prisuten za da vi pomogne pri popolnuvanjeto na formularot.

What an incredible Ilinden celebration with the Macedonian Welfare Association of NSW Inc.! 🇲🇰

Today, we proudly celebrated Ilinden with the Macedonian Welfare Association of NSW Inc.

What an incredible day honouring the rich history, culture, strength, and resilience of the Macedonian community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this significant day in our history. Your presence made the day truly special.

A sincere thank you to our dedicated staff and volunteers for their hard work, preparation, and commitment in making this celebration such a wonderful success.

A special thank you to Euro BBQ & Grill - Catering for the delicious main meal enjoyed by everyone and to Chris Janevski and Bale for providing the amazing music and entertainment throughout the day!

We also extend our sincere appreciation to those who generously donated prizes for our raffle, including Burek at Pece's, All Occasion Flowers, and Rosa Dora Annabella. Your generosity and support helped make our event even more memorable.

Our lovely Women's Group enjoyed a wonderful outing to a local spot for lunch.

It was a fantastic afternoon filled with great conversation, plenty of laughter, and joyful birthday celebrations. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it a special time together.
