If you have an early mark on a Friday, do you go home early or do you have a quiet drink at the pub? What about doing a hazard reduction burn! That's what some members of the Withcott Rural Fire Brigade did today.

Things don't *always* go 100% at training, but it's better to learn there, than on the fireground. Thursday night's training was a good example!
*Please note the hydrant is normally flushed prior to connection of a hose; in this case, it was done multiple times prior to this video being taken.

On Wednesday, two crews from Withcott Rural Fire Brigade attended a local property and burned a good sized stack for the property owner. We reckon this was one of the nearest stacks we've seen (burned) for years! With the cooler months upon us, now's the time to think about hazard mitigation around your property; what can you clean up (not only by burning) to improve safety should a fire come your way? Talk to your neighbours, too.
