Winmalee High School is a New South Wales Department of Education and
Communities Government co-educational school. It is located in the Blue Mountains,
approximately 50km west of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Winmalee High School uses its motto, "strive to achieve", as its focus to construct
a challenging curriculum that motivates students to seek academic, sporting and
social success. The school has a proud record of outstanding achievement in the
HSC and in other external examinations. Every year there are students in the top 1% in a wide variety of subjects because
of the supportive learning environment at the school. Winmalee High School is
committed to high academic standards in all years.

Winmalee High School recognised among NSW's Top 100 schools! ⭐️

We are incredibly proud to share that Winmalee High School has been ranked 96th in NSW for average HSC cohort mark in the 2025 Higher School Certificate, as seen in the Sydney Morning Herald rankings released last month. These rankings consider HSC results from high schools across the state, making this recognition a wonderful achievement for our students and staff.

Adding to this success, we are also thrilled that our HSC Advanced English students achieved an outstanding 44th place in NSW. This fantastic result highlights the strength of teaching and learning in one of the state's most competitive subjects.

This achievement reflects the dedication, resilience and hard work of our students and the expertise and commitment of our teaching staff.

On Friday of Week 7, students had the opportunity to participate in a Yamaha Technician Trade Taster Program. The Yamaha team gave students an authentic insight into life as a Yamaha technician, with students getting up close to three Yamaha bikes and experiencing some of the practical tasks undertaken by a first-year apprentice. Students worked collaboratively to solve problems, explore engine maintenance and fault-finding, and develop an understanding of workplace best practice and teamwork.

The session also explored the broader skills needed to pursue a career in the industry, including resume building, interview techniques and effective communication. It was great to see students so engaged in the practical activities and excited to explore the possibilities of a career in the automotive and mechanical trades.

Meet the team! Next weekend students and staff are participating in Penrith’s Relay for Life. This is a fundraising event which raises money for the Councer Council and supports those going through experiences with cancer. We will be walking or running for 25 hours straight and would love your support! The link to donate is below. Rugby League Update:
Congratulations to the Open Boys Rugby League team who, with wins over Blaxland and Colo, have qualified for the Hawkesbury Shield Grand Final on the 16th September at Windsor Stadium.
Yesterday, we hosted a seesawing double header against Blaxland HS. Injuries hit our already young Open Girls side. Leadership and strength from captain Issy wasn't enough as our girls, though all stepping up bravely, were outplayed by the opposition. Next was Winmalee's Under 16 Boys, who avenged the loss, showing some impressive physicality and skills, winning 50-0. Well done to all those opting in and playing for the Winmalee Wolves, can't wait to see you all back it up again in future games.
