Friending Staff on Facebook
Please note the the Department of Education and Communities has this advice for teachers 'Friending' parents on Facebook:
The line between your professional and personal life could become blurred making it difficult to manage your professional relationship with parents when that becomes necessary. You also need to bear in mind that becoming a Facebook friend with a parent could result in their children getting access to your account as well. You also need to be mindful that you need to be careful what you say on Facebook if you have parents as friends as comments made online can be misunderstood and could result in parental complaints made to your principal. In short, please do not ask to friend a member of staff on Facebook as refusal often offends.

βš½οΈπŸ† Blue Mountains PSSA Girls Soccer Gala Day πŸ†βš½οΈ

What a day of soccer for our Senior Girls! βš½οΈπŸ’™ Last Thursday, the team headed to Jamison Park for the Blue Mountains PSSA Gala Day, ready for a great day of competition, teamwork and fun.

The girls played brilliantly throughout the day, demonstrating great teamwork, skill and determination in every match. Just as importantly, they represented WPS with respect and sportsmanship, both on and off the field. They should be very proud of the way they conducted themselves. πŸ’™πŸ’›

A special shout-out to Willow and Kit, who went above and beyond by stepping in to referee some of the junior games for other schools. Their confidence, fairness and willingness to help were a wonderful example of leadership and were greatly appreciated. πŸ‘

We would also like to sincerely thank the parents who volunteered to referee at short notice. Your support made a real difference and helped keep the day running smoothly.

Well done, girls, on a great day of soccer and for representing WPS so proudly! βš½οΈπŸ‘

Recently, a group of our talented WPS athletes proudly represented our school at the Zone Athletics Carnival. πŸ’™πŸ’›

Our students competed across a range of track and field events, putting their skills to the test against students from schools across the Blue Mountains.

It was wonderful to see our students giving each event their best, but equally as wonderful to see the way they supported one another throughout the day. Between events, they cheered each other on, enjoyed spending time together and simply had fun. Watching students from across different year groups play, chat and interact so positively with one another was a lovely reflection of the friendships and school spirit within our WPS team. πŸ’™

We were incredibly proud of the determination and sportsmanship shown throughout the day. Whether achieving a personal best, placing in an event or simply taking on the challenge of competing at Zone level, every student represented WPS beautifully. πŸ‘πŸŒŸ

Congratulations to all of our competitors, and a special congratulations to those who have qualified to progress to the next level of competition. We wish you all the very best! πŸ…

A big thank you also to the staff and families who supported our athletes and helped make the day possible.

πŸ“šπŸŽΆ Book Week 2026 – A Symphony of Stories! πŸŽΆπŸ“š

What a wonderful celebration of books, characters and creativity for our Book Week Parade, embracing this year’s theme, β€œSymphony of Stories.” πŸ“–βœ¨

Our students certainly brought the theme to life, with an amazing variety of books and characters represented. There was some impressive teamwork too, with friends, siblings and even whole groups coordinating their costumes to create some very clever ensembles!

With music playing, our students marched to the beat of their own stories as they paraded their costumes for the school community. πŸŽ΅πŸ“š We were especially impressed by the creativity that went into so many of the outfits, including some fantastic handmade creations. A huge thank you to our parents, carers and students for the time, imagination and effort that went into making the day so colourful and fun.

And of course, a very special thank you to Mrs Holdsworth for β€˜composing’ such a wonderful Book Week celebration and bringing all the pieces together for our students. πŸŽΌπŸ’™

What a fantastic way to celebrate the stories, characters and books that inspire a love of reading at WPS! πŸ“šπŸŒŸ

πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ A Special Visit to WPS πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of exchange students from Arima High School in Japan, who were visiting as part of their exchange with students from Winmalee High School.

The students spent time exploring WPS and experiencing what primary school life is like here in Australia. During their visit, they spent time with our Early Stage 1 and Stage 1 classes, visited a Stage 2 classroom, explored our library and joined Mrs B for a visit to the science lab. They also had the opportunity to spend some time in the playground, meeting and interacting with our students. 🌏✨

The group was accompanied by students from Winmalee High School, along with a very popular additional visitor β€” Noodle, one of the high school's support dogs! 🐾

It was wonderful to welcome our visitors to WPS and share a little of our school and community with them. We hope they enjoyed their time with us and their Australian school experience. πŸ’™πŸ’›

πŸͺ©βœ¨ WPS School Disco! ✨πŸͺ©

Earlier this week, it was time to turn up the music and hit the dance floor for our WPS School Disco! πŸŽΆπŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

Our K–2 students kicked off the fun, followed by Years 3–6, with plenty of dancing, games, laughter and lots of glowing accessories lighting up the night! 🌟

The disco was one of our Year 6 fundraising events, with our Year 6 students taking an active role in making the night a success. They ran games, sold glow items, handed out food and drinks and, of course, helped lead the dancing! It was wonderful to see them taking responsibility and helping our younger students enjoy the night. πŸ’™

A huge thank you to our staff who gave their time to support the event and make it possible for our students to come together and enjoy such a fun evening. We are very grateful for the way our staff continue to support our students and school community.

Thank you also to all our families for supporting our Year 6 fundraising. What a fun night! πŸͺ©βœ¨
