Protection and deception are in play once again in Upper Spencer Gulf. Don't let one company's interests screw up the gulf and everything that lives in and around it. Spencer Gulf needs healing, not deception and exploitation. BHP and SA Water's desalination plans are live again, and they stink just as badly as the last time they tried this on, circa 2007-2011.

The site for Australia's largest breeding migration of giant Australian cuttlefish is now on the National Heritage List.

Desalination is not a sustainable water-supply, if it jeopardises marine life. The Upper Spencer Gulf is no place for a large-scale seawater desalination plant. Now is you your chance to tell the Government of South Australia they need to locate it outside of Spencer Gulf, on the West coast of Eyre Peninsula, where the water is oceanic, not slow-flushing. That will protect the giant Australian cuttlefish aggregation and gulf ecology from harm.

The South Australian government appears determined to turn the Upper Spencer Gulf into both a sewer for fish farm effluent, and a reservoir for the resources sector and heavy industry. A recent photo sent in by Cherilee Bagshaw, of a large "Black Scrubber" Kangaroo at Point Lowly. This roo would have to be in excess of 2 metres high when fully erect, and not one to encounter on a dark night. . !!
