Museum Curator and Historian Paul Mazourek recently visited Whyalla Secondary College to chat with students about all things Whyalla history. 👏

Students had the chance to ask questions, learn more about the city’s past, and hear some interesting stories and insights about Whyalla over the years.

It was a great session and a fun way for students to learn more about their local community and history.

There are multiple ways to (responsibly) toss the mess! ♻️

Got an old battery hiding in a drawer? A mountain of cardboard in the shed? A mystery collection of cables no one dares touch?

Before sending unwanted items to landfill, or leaving them where they don’t belong, Whyalla residents are reminded there are plenty of free and convenient disposal and recycling options available around town.

We enjoyed chatting with students and community members about future pathways and connecting with the many organisations showcasing opportunities in employment, training and education.

Thanks to everyone involved!

National Reconciliation Week is a time to reflect on our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to consider how we can all contribute to reconciliation. This year’s theme, All In, reminds us that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility.

As part of this important week, Nunga Screen 2026 offers an opportunity to connect with First Nations voices through storytelling, culture and film. Featuring powerful documentaries and dramas, the program explores themes of identity, family, truth, healing and connection to Country, celebrating culture and creating space to listen, learn and come together.

Nunga Screen:
- Wednesday 3 June at 7pm
- FREE screening at the Middleback Arts Centre
- Pre-show entertainment by Derek Griffin from 6pm.
